The Senior Manager will work closely with the AMER GL team and partner extensively with AP, Payroll, Legal, HR/Total Rewards, FP&A, and Tax to ensure timely, accurate, and well-supported financial results each month. This is an ideal role for an experienced accounting leader who enjoys being close to the details, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants exposure to complex accounting matters.
Key Responsibilities
AMER Close Execution & Ownership

  • Own the end-to-end monthly close for the AMER region, partnering with the AMER GL team to drive timely, accurate, and complete close outcomes.
  • Manage and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and close deliverables for AMER-based entities.
  • Act as the primary point of contact during close, resolving issues, coordinating dependencies, and escalating risks as needed.
  • Prepare and review flux analyses and close packages, partnering with FP&A to ensure alignment between actuals and forecasts.
  • Support quarterly and annual close processes, including expanded analytics, audit readiness, and reporting support.

Technical Accounting Support

  • Support technical accounting assessments under US GAAP in coordination with the Assistant Controller, including research and documentation.
  • Assist with preparation and maintenance of accounting policies and position memos as needed.
  • Apply accounting guidance across equity compensation, leases, business combinations, and other complex areas in the day-to-day close.

Audit, Controls & Compliance

  • Support external audits by preparing schedules, responding to auditor requests, and ensuring audit-ready documentation for AMER entities.
  • Execute and maintain SOX / ICFR controls within scope, including preparation and review controls.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and the Assistant Controller to address control findings and drive remediation efforts.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Act as a key user for core finance systems, including NetSuite, FloQast, Coupa, and other close-related tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement in AMER close processes, reconciliations, and documentation, with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and quality.
  • Identify automation and standardization opportunities in partnership with accounting leadership.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to members of the AMER GL team.
  • Review work product, reinforce expectations for quality and timeliness, and help develop team members’ technical and operational skills.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented culture within the accounting organization.

Qualifications
Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in corporate accounting and/or public accounting.
  • Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and hands-on experience with monthly close processes.
  • Experience partnering cross-functionally with FP&A, Payroll, HR, Legal, and AP.
  • Familiarity with SOX / ICFR-controlled environments and external audit support.
  • Experience working in NetSuite or a similar ERP, and modern close tools (e.g., FloQast).
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Preferred

  • CPA preferred but not required.
  • Big 4 or national public accounting experience.
  • Experience in software, SaaS, or technology companies.

Why SolarWinds

  • High-impact hands-on leadership role within Corporate Accounting, with clear visibility into the AMER close and business operations.
  • Close partnership with the Assistant Controller and exposure to senior finance leadership.
  • Opportunity to deepen technical expertise while remaining close to execution and operations.
  • Hybrid work model in our Austin office (3 days in office, aligned with our global hybrid work program).
  • Competitive compensation, annual bonus potential, and comprehensive benefits.
