In this role you will:
  • Work with a strong group of data scientists as we advance our core data artifacts to the next level (Tableau, Redash, etc.) functionally, aesthetically and operationally
  • Develop strong collaborative partnerships with business and operations leaders
  • Provide technical expertise in data visualization, deep business acumen, stakeholder engagement and operational insights via analysis
  • Work with a cross functional team to drive improvement and efficiency in a rapidly scaling and dynamic customer support environment, bringing analytic capabilities and insights to bear
  • Address business challenges, performance bottlenecks and growth opportunities with analytic solutions
  • Playing the role of analytic visualization expert in cross functional teams, focused on measurement of new strategies or initiatives, sizing of opportunities, and understanding of complex systems; always with a mind towards actionable insights and business impact

Some skills and tools you'll use are:
  • Analytics: Data visualization, Statistics, data distributions, summary/aggregation methods, operational metric development, ongoing OKR measurement
  • Tools: Tableau, SQL, Redash, R / Python, Excel, etc.
  • Collaboration: Confluence, Jira

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a STEM field (e.g. statistics, mathematics, physics, econometrics, or computer science)
  • 2+ Years of Experience in Data Science or related fields
  • Proficiency in SQL or another data manipulation programming language (e.g. Python, R)
  • Familiarity with at least one visualization tool (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker, Streamlit, Databricks, Hex)
  • Knowledge of statistics concepts and modeling, and how to apply them to practical questions
  • Strong written communication skills, verbal communication skills, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience with applying analytics skills to projects, which have had impact on business strategy and performance
  • Proven ability to translate data into compelling and easy-to-understand insights, stories, and narratives that resonate with technical and non-technical audiences

Compensation
At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:
Zone A: USD 153000 - USD 199750
Zone B: USD 137700 - USD 179775
Zone C: USD 127800 - USD 166850
This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
