At PrivateID, we're making this a reality with secure, self-managed digital identities that feel almost magical: think biometric sorcery meets cryptographic brilliance. Trusted by global brands for our privacy-first solutions, we're rapidly scaling to meet the soaring demand for passwordless, zero-trust technology. Now, we're seeking a talented Senior Android Developer to help transform this vision into everyday reality.

About the Role

As a Senior Android Engineer at PrivateID, you will play a critical role in shaping our mobile applications, driving innovation, and delivering exceptional user experiences. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining top-tier Android applications that align with our business goals and technical standards. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and backend developers, you'll ensure seamless feature integration and a cohesive user experience across platforms.

Day-to-Day at PrivateID

You'll collaborate with a remote, global team across time zones in a high-performance environment that values autonomy and teamwork. Your daily tasks will include contributing to our technical roadmap, bringing multi-year plans filled with cryptographic innovations and next-generation biometrics to life. You'll follow best practices, tackle complex challenges, and execute deliverables aligned with our mission to create a secure, passwordless digital ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Strong Kotlin Expertise: Proven experience developing robust Android applications using Kotlin, with deep understanding of coroutines and lifecycle-aware components for responsive, maintainable code.
  • Modern Android UI Development: Proficient in Jetpack Compose for building intuitive and scalable UIs, along with hands-on experience using Android frameworks like CameraX for real-time image processing and advanced camera functionalities.
  • Clean Architecture with MVVM: Skilled in implementing scalable and testable applications following MVVM architecture and clean code principles.
  • Native Code Integration: Capable of extending Android functionality and optimizing performance by integrating native code through Java Native Interface (JNI) and C/C++.
  • NFC Experience (Bonus): Additional value if you have worked in the NFC space, particularly around contactless interactions and secure data exchange.

Why You’ll Love This Role

At PrivateID, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of digital identity. Our work impacts globally recognized brands, helping users enjoy a world free from passwords, security questions, and annoying CAPTCHA puzzles. Your contributions will not only drive our products but will also influence how industries approach security and privacy.

This is a 100% Remote role with competitive compensation and Paid Time Off (PTO).
