HealthIT Epic Client Systems

Job Summary:

Supports Epic ECSA technologies independently, including day-to-day operations, break/fix, configuration, maintenance, upgrades/updates, documentation, and on-call rotations.
This position is a Senior Epic Client Systems Administrator (Sr. ECSA) on the Epic Client Systems team, supporting Epic's Web & Service server technologies across Vanderbilt Health's enterprise Epic environment. The role supports the full range of ECSA Web & Service technologies — Interconnect, MyChart, Web BLOB, Business Continuity Access (BCA), Epic Print Service (EPS), and Hyperspace Web — along with the broader ECSA portfolio, including Hyperdrive Local, Epic Satellite, reverse proxy, System Pulse, Kuiper, FIPS digital signing, EpicCare Link, Welcome Web, CareEverywhere, and related ECSA technologies. Supporting these broader ECSA technologies is a regular part of this role, and an experienced ECSA is expected to know them. Strong Interconnect experience is important in this role, as is the ability to support all the Web & Service technologies. This role joins the team's on-call rotation and carries a significant share of weekly/monthly Epic Special Updates (SUs) and Epic upgrades, and requires strong organization and documentation skills.
(Note: This role is available for remote work from most US locations)

  • Experience with Epic upgrades and weekly/monthly Special Updates (SUs), including build, testing, and validation
  • Experience using Kuiper to deploy Special Updates, upgrades, and configurations, including Hyperdrive Local deployments
  • Support the on-call rotation and scheduled evening/weekend SU and upgrade work
  • Experience troubleshooting Windows Server / IIS-hosted Epic Web & Service components, certificates, and connectivity
  • Strong organization skills — able to manage multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines, track work accurately, and follow through
  • Strong documentation skills and experience working under formal change management
