Meet the Team

Join the NPI Platform and Security Applications team at Silicon Labs, where you’ll play a key role in bringing next-generation silicon products to market. This team turns cutting-edge hardware into real-world, system-level solutions that customers can quickly evaluate, adopt, and scale.

You’ll work at the intersection of product innovation and customer impact—partnering with Product, Systems, and leading customers to prototype solutions, shape product direction, and accelerate adoption across a growing ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Develop embedded applications that address customer use cases using Silicon Labs hardware and software platforms

  • Design, implement, and validate embedded software and reference applications from prototype through production

  • Build proof-of-concept demonstrations and applications examples to evaluate new device capabilities

  • Debug hardware and software issues using standard embedded development and debugging tools

  • Collaborate with product, firmware, hardware, and applications engineering teams to support product development and customer success

  • Support customers by reproducing issues, troubleshooting designs, and providing technical guidance alongside senior engineers

  • Create and maintain high-quality application examples, reference designs, and technical documentation

  • Optimize embedded applications for performance, power efficiency, and reliability

  • Contribute technical feedback from customer engagements to improve products, documentation, and development tools

  • Stay current with embedded technologies and continually expand technical expertise

Skills You Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE, CE, CS, or related field with 3-5 years of professional experience

  • Experience in embedded software development using C/C++ on microcontrollers (bare-metal and/or RTOS)

  • Proven track record delivering end-to-end embedded systems from design to release

  • Hands-on debugging experience across hardware and software

  • Experience with RTOS (e.g., Zephyr) and/or Linux-based systems

  • Solid understanding of embedded interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, interrupts, timers)

  • Experience with Edge AI / embedded ML, including deployment and inference on constrained devices

  • Ability to prototype and optimize systems for performance, power, and reliability

  • Experience collaborating across engineering teams and supporting customer-facing efforts

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage global teams and customers

The Following Qualifications Will Be Considered a Plus

  • Experience with embedded security concepts and implementations, including: Cryptographic algorithms and secure operations Secure boot and secure debug, TrustZone or similar hardware-based isolation, Tamper detection and secure storage, Secure provisioning and manufacturing flows, Experience with motor control (e.g., FOC, control loops, power electronics)

  • Embedded vision or camera pipeline experience

  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, and hardware-in-the-loop testing

  • Python or scripting for automation and tooling

  • Silicon bring-up or hardware validation experience

  • Knowledge of multi-core MCUs, concurrency, and low-level optimization (ARM/RISC-V)

  • Experience mentoring engineers or supporting customer enablement

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $101,500 - $188,500 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
