Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership
- Lead and oversee architectural design from Pre-Design through Construction Administration, ensuring alignment with client goals, program requirements, budget, and schedule.
- Translate conceptual design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable solutions.
- Uphold the firm’s design standards, and quality objectives.
Technical & Project Execution
- Direct production of Construction Documents consistent with AIA documentation standards.
- Resolve complex technical, code, and constructability issues.
- Coordinate architectural work with consultants (structural, MEP, civil, specialty).
- Maintain compliance with applicable codes, zoning ordinances, accessibility standards, and sustainability goals.
Construction Phase Services
- Provide oversight during Bidding/Negotiation and Construction Administration.
- Review submittals and shop drawings for conformance with design intent.
- Respond to RFIs and issue Architectural Supplemental Instructions (ASIs) as required.
- Participate in site visits, field observations, and problem resolution.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a senior point of contact for clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Present design solutions and technical recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Support project management efforts related to scope, schedule, and fee.
Mentorship & Firm Support
- Mentor architectural staff and provide technical guidance across project teams.
- Assist in establishing office standards, QA/QC processes, and best practices.
- Contribute to proposal development, interviews, and business development efforts as needed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Required
- Professional degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch).
- Licensed Architect (or actively pursuing licensure where permitted).
- 7+ years of professional experience, including leadership on complex projects.
- Strong knowledge of AIA project phases, contract documents, and standard forms.
- Proficiency in architectural production tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, BIM workflows).
- Demonstrated expertise in building codes, systems coordination, and construction detailing.
Preferred
- Experience with large-scale, government, civic, or complex building types.
- Familiarity with sustainable design frameworks (e.g., LEED, WELL).
- Prior experience mentoring staff or leading multiple project teams.
Benefits
Pay Structure- $95,000 to $125,000
