Responsibilities

- Transform information gathered during elicitation sessions into business and functional requirements, use cases, and user stories.
- Develop software requirements specifications documents, wireframes, and mockups using standard templates.
- Write requirements in simple, unambiguous, and concise natural language.
- Mentor peers and colleagues by disseminating business analysis best practices.
- Proactively seek out training opportunities to maintain and expand business analysis expertise.
- Use tools such as Jira and Modern Requirements to manage the change control process and participate in the software development lifecycle.
- Track and communicate requirements status to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, vendors, and infrastructure teams to support system delivery.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 8 years of experience with relational database concepts to understand how data is stored and accessed by applications.
- 8 years of experience analyzing data used in system processing and reporting to identify issues and document logic.
- 8 years of experience using SQL or query tools at a basic-to-intermediate level to retrieve, validate, and reconcile data.
- 8 years of experience leading elicitation meetings and creating well-written system and technical requirements.
- 8 years of experience documenting data requirements, rules, validation logic, and data definitions for systems and reports.
- 5 years of demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills.
- 5 years of demonstrated strong writing and organization skills.
- 5 years of experience collaborating with developers, architects, vendors, and infrastructure teams to support the software development lifecycle.
- 3 years of experience supporting large-scale or complex information technology projects with multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 years of documented work experience with the issue tracking software Atlassian Jira.
- 3 years of documented work experience with the requirements management software Modern Requirements.
- 2 years of documented experience working for or closely with the Texas Education Agency, a federal, state, or local education agency, or an education vendor.
