Senior Citrix Administrator – On‑Prem & Hybrid Cloud (VMware + CVAD 2402)

Role Overview

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Citrix Administrator to design, operate, and optimize large-scale Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops environments spanning on‑prem Data Centers, Azure, and hybrid cloud architectures. This role requires deep expertise with CVAD 2402+, VMware ESXi/vSphere, Azure, WEM, CPM, and NetScaler ADC 14.1, as well as strong cross‑domain knowledge of Windows Server, AD, DNS, networking, load balancing, and automation.


Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

  • Architect and optimize CVAD 2402 environments (Delivery Controllers, VDAs, StoreFront/Workspace, Cloud Connectors) across VMware and Azure. 
  • Design and maintain WEM policies, CPM profiles, and profile container strategies.
  • Implement high‑availability NetScaler ADC 14.1 solutions for Gateway/AAA, MFA, LDAP, and load balancing.
  • Lead image management lifecycle using MCS (versioning, patching, optimization).
  • Integrate with AD, Azure AD/MFA/Conditional Access, PKI, and security platforms.

Operations & Administration

  • Manage CVAD Catalogs, Delivery Groups, policies, and StoreFront configurations.
  • Create and maintain WEM policies and desktop optimization assignments.
  • Monitor VDA health, logon performance, session metrics, and end‑user experience.
  • Manage CPM profiles, including profile containers, WEM integration and GPO integration.

  • Manage NetScaler ADC 14.1 firmware, content switching, authentication policies, SSO, and monitoring.
  • Use Citrix Director, vCenter, WEM logs, and NetScaler/HDX Insight for proactive monitoring.

  • Oversee OS patching, VDA upgrades, CU cycles, and certificate lifecycle.

Troubleshooting & Incident Response

  • Diagnose CVAD issues: VDA registration, brokering, session launches.
  • Analyze ICA/HDX performance (EDT/TCP fallback, congestion, QoS, latency).
  • Resolve WEM agent registration, policy assignment, and service connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot CPM profile issues (logon delays, container paths, exclusions).
  • Address NetScaler Gateway authentication failures (LDAP/MFA/SAML, nFactor), traffic policy issues, and HA problems.
  • Troubleshoot VMware performance metrics (CPU Ready, ballooning, datastore latency, DRS).

Automation & Continuous Improvement

  • Automate operations using PowerShell, Citrix SDKs, and NetScaler NITRO APIs.
  • Script image publishing, MCS workflows, capacity reporting, and logon analytics.
  • Create standardized documentation, runbooks, diagrams, and operational baselines.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years Citrix administration experience in enterprise environments.
  • Expert-level skills with CVAD 2402, Controllers, VDAs, StoreFront, and Cloud Connectors.
  • Strong experience with WEM configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Advanced CPM knowledge including profile containers and GPO integration.
  • Deep expertise with NetScaler ADC 14.1 (Gateway/AAA, GSLB, LB, SSL, policies, diagnostics).
  • Strong VMware ESXi/vSphere skills (clusters, HA/DRS, tuning, templates).
  • PowerShell automation for Citrix/Windows/AD.
  • Strong understanding of networking, SSL chains, firewalls, AD, DNS, and GPOs.

Nice To Have

  • Citrix App Layering, Citrix Analytics.
  • FSLogix experience.
  • Monitoring tools (ControlUp, eG Innovations).

Preferred Certifications

  • Citrix: CCA‑V, CCP‑V, CCE‑V; CCA‑N/CCP‑N (ADC)
  • Microsoft: Azure Administrator / Architect

Pay Transparency Laws in some locations require disclosure of compensation and/or benefits-related information.  For this position, actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. In addition to base pay, this position, based on business need, may be eligible for a bonus or incentive. In addition, Conduent provides a variety of benefits to employees including health insurance coverage, voluntary dental and vision programs, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) or vacation and/or sick time. The estimated salary range for this role is $130K - 150K annually.
