SheerID’s Senior Communications Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the communication strategy for SheerID. This role manages PR, media relations, social media, and digital communications, ensuring consistency across how we communicate about our brand narrative, product, and core initiatives across all channels.


Role Specific Job Duties:

Strategy Development:

  • Develop a cross-channel communication strategy that encompasses an external communication plan across PR, social, and other marketing materials. 
  • Develop and manage PR and social calendars in alignment with business priorities and objectives.

Content Creation:

  • Work closely with the Content Director and other copywriters to craft and curate high-quality, on-brand content across PR, social, and digital communications.
  • Amplify SheerID’s brand narrative by ensuring consistent communication across all channels, aligned to our communication strategy. 
  • Collaborate with marketing partners and cross-functional teams to plan and execute larger initiatives, campaigns, and programs across PR and social media, ensuring content aligns with our communication strategy and plan.

Media Relations & PR:

  • Develop and execute a combined PR and social media strategy that builds community, trust, and awareness across our target audience and brands. 
  • Manage our PR agency and media inquiries, working with the agency to develop our PR strategy connected to our overarching communication plan.  
  • Work with our PR agency to build relationships with journalists including pitch stories and securing media coverage and interviews.

Social Media Management:

  • Develop evergreen and relevant social content connected to our core messaging pillars and storylines. 
  • Engage with and build community by creating a true two-dialogue with our audience and brands, using data to provide key insights and opportunities to engage our brand audience. 
  • Develop and maintain social media guidelines.

Data & Analysis:

  • Use data to analyze, optimize, and amplify channel-specific content based on key insights with a focus on engagement, growth, traffic, conversion, and sentiment.
  • Share data insights and reporting with cross-functional teams on a regular cadence with recommendations for tactical and strategic adjustments for content and optimization. 
  • Recommend innovative ways to build deeper relationships with our brands and audience.

Required Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of demonstrated experience developing strategic communication plans across public relations, social media, and digital communications. 
  • Exceptional writing skills with experience collaborating with design and content teams to amplify a brand narrative.  
  • Experience developing KPIs by channel and aligned to company objectives, using data to measure success and drive recommendations/decision-making. 
  • Strong experience and comfortable building and executing a comprehensive communication strategy including but not limited to thought leadership, employee advocacy, influencer programs, social listening, crisis management, and elevating the voice of the customer/employee.
  • Extensive understanding of how to connect multiple communication channels into one strategy and plan. 
  • Solution-oriented, strategic thinker with an ability to build strong relationships with media and cross-functional partners. 
  • Experience developing KPIs by channel and aligned to company objectives, using data to measure success and drive recommendations/decision-making. 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience with social media management tools like Hootsuite, Google, and YouTube Analytics.
