Job Overview

This is a critical role for the evolution of our creative system that will help Coursera’s creative team expand capacity by designing the systems, workflows, and AI-enabled processes that allow us to produce high-quality creative at scale.

You will evaluate current production methods, identify where automation and AI can eliminate friction, and build Figma-based templates and repeatable workflows that make it easy to generate consistent, multi-format, multi-language assets. You will use applied AI and no-code automation tools to streamline production, and you will partner closely with marketing and engineering automation teams to define the creative workflows those groups later scale and operationalize. You will be the systems and workflow specialist who enables the creative team to deliver high-quality, world-class marketing at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Build the Coursera Creative System for Scale: Translate brand guidelines into a foundational Figma component library and documentation system, training cross-functional teams to use reusable assets that ensure quality and consistency across all automated workflows.
  • Develop Scalable Creative Workflows: Design repeatable file structures and production workflows in Figma that enable the efficient generation of high-volume asset variations, localized layouts, and multi-channel formats without compromising quality.
  • Drive Strategic Automation & AI: Identify high-volume production bottlenecks (e.g. resizing, localization, QA) and implement responsible AI and batch-processing solutions that directly improve production velocity and marketing performance.
  • Establish Enablement & Guardrails: Create clear documentation, training guides, and quality standards (e.g., spacing, contrast, safe zones) to ensure seamless, error-free handoffs between designers, copywriters, and operational partners like Coursera’s Services Operations Center (SOC) and Marketing Strategy and Operations (MSO) teams.
  • Measure, Improve, and Mature the System: Define and track key performance metrics—such as time saved and  speed-to-market—to ensure the creative operating system is driving tangible business value.
  • Technical Architecture & Tooling: Maintain expert-level proficiency in Figma (Auto-layout, Variables, Plugins) and Creative Cloud, while exploring emerging AI tools to empower teams to deliver high-quality, world-class marketing at scale.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years experience in design systems roles with deep mastery of Figma component architecture, auto-layout, and scalable asset production.
  • Experience building creative workflows that scale output through templates, workflow automation, and the thoughtful use of AI tools.
  • Familiarity with automation and workflow tools that streamline creative production (e.g., localization plugins, data-merge workflows, or Creative Cloud integrations).
  • Demonstrates expertise in applying AI tools to scale creative production, including the ability to define structured prompts and reference inputs.
  • Experience translating brand guidelines into repeatable systems that both designers and non-experts can apply.
  • Comfortable building documentation, onboarding materials, and training modules.

Nice to haves

  • This role will partner with other technical teams in Coursera to scale workflows, but familiarity/comfort with agents, coding, and AI tools will facilitate the collaboration that will enable us to successfully scale creative workflows.
