Perform due diligence and underwriting for DSCR mortgage loans, manage a pipeline of 25–30 deals, communicate with investors and brokers, prepare asset summary reports, coordinate vendors, and support loan closings while building client relationships and attending industry events.
Easy Street Capital is a looking for a highly organized and driven individual to assist the premier private lender in Texas. EasyRent offers “DSCR” loans to real estate investors nationally for residential and mixed use properties up to ten units. You’ll get to work with a fun, fast paced team in a vibrant downtown office.
The Real Estate Analyst role is focused on performing all aspects of due diligence with regards to the origination of mortgage loans (valuation, tenant/lease, insurance, borrower credit, etc.) including direct interaction with investors and mortgage brokers. The role also consists of and requires high levels of communication between teammates and a multitude of external parties. You will serve as the “hub” of up to 30 individual deals at one time, performing the analysis and diligence, and keeping everyone up-to-date and organized with the goal of closing loans. Knowledge and experience with real estate and finance is preferred but not required; the role serves as a perfect “bootcamp” for learning everything about investment real estate finance and launching a successful career.
Typical Tasks and Responsibilities
- Work with investors and mortgage brokers to perform loan origination due diligence including collecting documents, solving problems and providing status updates
- Perform due diligence and underwriting of mortgage loans, including property cash flows, rent roll analysis, reviewing leases or short-term rental operating histories, reviewing insurance and doing full credit and background reviews
- Write up loan summaries in Asset Summary Reports, providing analysis and commentary on mortgage loans, properties and markets and investor background
- Work with and develop relationships with key vendors including appraisal management companies and appraisers, appraisal reviewers, insurance agents and title companies
- Manage a pipeline of 25-30 deals by keeping deal checklists, statuses and files organized and up to date, and providing professional and frequent communication to all stakeholders
- Build relationships with loan originators and investor clients and assist with deal sourcing and new business for the firm
- Attend local networking and skill-development events to build network and knowledge base; potentially attend and assist with conferences and other industry events
Skills Desired/Required
- Recent Graduates or 1-2 years of experience with related education or experience in areas of real estate; business analyst, financial analyst or credit analyst roles or experience in consulting, advisory or public accounting roles all pluses, but not required. 2-3 years experience and a solid track record in any of the prior eligible for a Senior Credit Analyst role with commensurate compensation and similar role and responsibilities with quicker path towards growth and promotion.
