CAPCO POLAND

*We're looking for Poland-based candidates.

Capco is a global management and technology consultancy dedicated to the financial services industry. We partner with leading banks, insurers, and fintechs to deliver data-driven transformation, operational excellence, and innovative digital solutions.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Data Architect to join a strategic client project where architecture design, technology selection, and implementation alignment are critical to success.

This is a consulting role for a professional who combines strong architectural thinking with hands-on technical expertise. You will bridge business data requirements, logical and physical data models, cloud platforms (GCP/Azure), and implementation realities.

You will be responsible for shaping end-to-end data architecture — from conceptual and logical models, through tooling recommendations, to supporting implementation teams in building scalable, secure, and future-ready data platforms.

What You’ll Do:

Data Architecture Design

  • Define target data architecture aligned with business and governance requirements
  • Design conceptual, logical, and physical data models
  • Establish data integration patterns (batch, streaming, APIs)
  • Define data storage, processing, and consumption layers (lake/lakehouse/warehouse paradigms)
  • Ensure alignment between data architecture and enterprise architecture standards

Cloud & Platform Architecture (GCP / Azure)

  • Design scalable cloud-native data platforms on GCP and/or Azure
  • Define architecture patterns leveraging services such as:
    • GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage)
    • Azure (Synapse, Data Factory, Databricks, ADLS, Event Hub)
  • Ensure security, IAM, data protection, and cost-efficiency principles are embedded
  • Design DevOps/DataOps approaches for CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code

Tooling Recommendations

  • Assess current data ecosystem and identify architecture gaps
  • Recommend appropriate tools for ingestion, transformation, storage, metadata, and data quality
  • Define selection criteria and evaluate vendors/platform components
  • Ensure tooling decisions align with scalability, governance, and long-term maintainability

Implementation Support & Technical Leadership

  • Provide hands-on support in prototyping and validating architecture decisions
  • Guide engineering teams during implementation
  • Review code, pipelines, and data models where needed
  • Resolve architectural blockers and technical risks
  • Ensure performance optimisation and reliability of data solutions

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Engineer in transformation projects
  • Strong understanding of data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical)
  • Hands-on experience building data platforms in GCP and/or Azure
  • Strong knowledge of modern data architecture patterns (lakehouse, data mesh, event-driven architectures)
  • Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines
  • Solid understanding of SQL, distributed data processing, and cloud-native architectures
  • Practical experience with DevOps/DataOps practices
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical designs

Technical Skills (Expected Hands-On Experience)

  • Cloud: GCP and/or Azure
  • Data Warehousing & Lakehouse architectures
  • SQL and data transformation frameworks
  • Orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Azure Data Factory)
  • Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) – nice to have
  • CI/CD pipelines for data platforms
  • Experience working with large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets

Ideal Profile

  • Strong technical background with architectural mindset
  • Comfortable switching between whiteboard design and hands-on validation
  • Experience working in consulting or complex transformation environments
  • Ability to communicate architecture decisions clearly to both business and technical stakeholders
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented, delivery-focused

We offer a flexible collaboration model based on a B2B contract, with the opportunity to work on diverse projects.

Recruitment Process:

  • HR Interview
  • Hiring Manager Technical Interview
  • Client Interview
  • Feedback and offer

We have been informed of several recruitment scams targeting the public. We strongly advise you to verify identities before engaging in recruitment related communication. All official Capco communication will be conducted via a Capco recruiter.
