About the Role 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our HR Data & Analytics team. This role is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing scalable data solutions that enable business intelligence, reporting, analytics, and decision-making across the organization. 

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in SQL, data integration, data modeling, and Power BI, along with strong experience building modern data platforms and pipelines. This individual will collaborate closely with HR stakeholders, analysts, data scientists, and technology teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performance data solutions. 

What You’ll Do 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade data pipelines and integration solutions. 

  • Build and optimize data warehouse, data lake, and semantic models to support analytics and reporting needs. 

  • Lead data modeling efforts, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models. 

  • Develop robust ETL/ELT processes to ingest, transform, and manage data from multiple source systems. 

  • Create scalable and performant SQL solutions for complex business requirements. 

  • Support and enhance Power BI datasets, data models, and reporting architectures. 

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, governance, and security across the data ecosystem. 

  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. 

  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks across databases, integrations, and reporting platforms. 

  • Contribute to data architecture decisions and establish engineering best practices.

What You Will Need to Succeed  

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or business intelligence development 

  • Must have experience with the following - SQL Server / T-SQL, Data Integration (ETL/ELT), Data Modeling, Power BI, RLS, DAX, MDX, Data Warehousing, Database Design & Optimization, Git / Azure DevOps, VS, VS Code 

  • This role requires travel to clients and FTI offices 

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Advanced expertise in SQL development and performance tuning. 

  • Strong experience designing and implementing data integration solutions, ETL/ELT pipelines, Medallion architecture. 

  • Deep understanding of data modeling principles, including multidimensional modeling, snowflake-schema and star-schema design. 

  • Advanced experience with Power BI, including semantic models, DAX, performance optimization, and enterprise reporting. 

  • Experience working with large and complex datasets in enterprise environments. 

  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management, and security best practices. 

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

  • Experience supporting HR, Finance, Sales, or enterprise analytics environments. 

  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices. 

  • Strong documentation skills. 

  • Experience developing applications and integrations using C#/.NET and/or Python. 

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, and OneLake. 

  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, web services, and system integrations. 

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure data and analytics services (Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions). 

  • Technical Skills - C#, Python, SSRS, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, REST APIs

Compensation
Minimum Pay: $122,000
Maximum Pay: $213,000
Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual compensation is determined based on a wide array of relevant factors including market considerations, business needs, and an individual’s location, skills, level of experience, and qualifications.
