About this role:
It's an exciting time to be a part of Wells Fargo's Home Lending Data and Insight Technology team. This newly created position will help shape and transform Wells Fargo's enterprise data landscape. Home Lending Data and Insight Technology is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to be responsible for technical advancements for Data Management capabilities and related applications. This position will be heavily engaged with agile and be expected to operate fluently within both agile and waterfall-based teams and processes. This individual must be able to handle multiple ongoing projects/tasks and possess a strong combination of analytical, assessment, organizational and technical skills; he/she must be capable of working successfully with a wide variety of stakeholders such as business product owners, application owners, scrum masters, agile coaches, architects, developers, testers, and others in a highly distributed environment. This position will work closely with both the technology and business groups to coordinate sizing for incoming work, manage small base efforts, groom product backlogs and drive continuous velocity improvement for the team.
Acts as a senior development resource in providing application design guidance and consultation, utilizing a thorough understanding of applicable technology, tools and existing designs. Analyzes highly complex business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications along with other artifacts required by Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) expectations to design or redesign complex computer platforms and applications. Provides coding direction to less experienced staff or develops highly complex original code. Acts as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts. Verifies program logic by overseeing the preparation of test data, testing and debugging of programs. Oversees overall systems testing and the migration of platforms and applications to production. Develops new documentation, departmental technical procedures and user guides. Ability to lead projects, including assignment of tasks, and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staff. Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees creation of or updates to and testing of the business continuation plan. Ensures the success of the Team by providing any required support.

- 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 4+ years of experience working within an application development environment
- 4+ years of experience with databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL server, or Teradata
- 4+ years of SQL Server SSIS/Ab Initio/Informatica
- 4+ years of Github
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience with one or more Agile tools used for tracking user stories or backlogs, such as VersionOne and
