The HubSpot People Analytics team helps HubSpot employees (or HubSpotters, for short) thrive so that they can delight customers. We do that by building analytical products to help HubSpotters grow better.

As a Senior Data Scientist, you will help the People Analytics team advance our work improving Engineer productivity. This role involves working in close partnership with the Developer Experience team in Engineering to help HubSpot’s Software Engineers work more efficiently and effectively. You will build statistical models, identify predictive analytics opportunities and challenges, integrate AI solutions into our processes, and support these solutions after they are deployed.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain statistical models and predictive analytics that focus on employee outcomes such as attrition and performance.
  • Design and implement analytics solutions that surface key insights, predict future outcomes, and inform developer experience and operations investments and key decisions.
  • In collaboration with Data Engineers, you will identify and help ingest new big data sources. Your proficiency in data query/processing languages and tools, such as SQL and Snowflake, will aid in translating these data sources into predictive features.
  • Your interest and experience in using Large Language Models (LLMs) to aid analytics will open up new avenues for innovation in this role.

Qualifications

  • Experience building, validating, and deploying statistical models to solve real business problems.
  • Understanding of predictive analytics fundamentals, including model training, selection, validation, and updating.
  • Experience building predictive analytics solutions, from the prototype phase to production.
  • Experience partnering with Engineering teams and familiarity with development processes and metrics.
  • Proficiency in Python (bonus for experience using R).
  • Proficiency in SQL (bonus for experience with dbt or other data warehousing tools).
  • Bonus points for prior experience using Large Language Models in analytics.
