About the Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to help us build modern analytics and AI capabilities from the ground up. Our data function is early, which means this role will focus on creating foundations, executing on new analytics opportunities and growing sophistication over time.
You’ll work across our agency, homeowners, and fronting carrier businesses, partnering closely with actuaries, underwriters, and business leaders to turn data into insight, action, and smarter decisions.

What You’ll Do:
- Build data products that support everything from core reporting to advanced analytics and AI
- Deliver practical BI and analytics today while helping us move toward predictive models and AI-driven insights
- Collaborate with actuaries, underwriters, and product leaders to identify high-impact opportunities
- Develop and deploy statistical models, ML, and emerging AI use cases
- Help define lightweight standards and best practices as we grow
- Be hands-on — this is a builder role, not a research lab
Must Haves:
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or applied statistics , with a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering)
- Comfortable working across the spectrum: SQL + dashboards → models + AI
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, Tableau, Skoda, and modern analytics tools
- Thrives in early-stage or low-maturity data environments
- Curious, pragmatic, and business-oriented
Nice to Have:
- Insurance experience is a plus, but strong problem-solving matters more
