Summary:
The Senior Director, Technical Program Management directs enterprise program execution to achieve strategic outcomes across cross-unit integrations. This key role oversees strategic planning program standards for an IT or data organization to drive leadership alignment, execution focus, and operating discipline. The Senior Director, Technical Program Management establishes planning and decision-support mechanisms that connect strategic objectives, delivery performance, and resource allocation. Leads organizational rhythms and management processes that improve transparency, accountability, and leadership effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
  • Directs enterprise portfolio and program execution to achieve strategic outcomes across cross-unit integrations.

  • Oversees portfolio governance, prioritization, and performance reporting to enable investment decisions and risk management.

  • Establishes portfolio and program standards, frameworks, and metrics to improve delivery consistency and transparency.

  • Directs cross-functional dependency management and integrated delivery planning to reduce conflicts and delivery risk.

  • Connects the dots between strategy, operations, and execution.

  • Establishes and manages vendor partnerships, contracts, and performance governance to meet scope, schedule, and financial commitments.

  • Influences enterprise stakeholders to align roadmaps, funding, and delivery priorities with strategic goals.

  • Orchestrates people management outcomes by setting expectations, conducting performance reviews, making talent decisions, and developing the team.

  • Lead Program in defining and delivering large scale enterprise projects of $100M+

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
  • Master's degree in business administration, engineering, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 12+ years of experience in technology project management, program management, agile delivery environments, change management, or a related field required.
  • 8+ years of experience in a management capacity required.
  • Certification in Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PGMP), PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM I), or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Uses enterprise portfolio tools to communicate status and inform executive decision-making.
  • Develops and manages enterprise-level budgets using portfolio management tools.
  • Leverages agile delivery tools to view and manage project and program backlogs.
  • Extracts and analyzes portfolio data to assess cross-project intersections, dependencies, and enterprise allocations.
  • Uses MS Project to support schedule and status communication based on program needs.
  • Uses MS Excel to analyze and communicate enterprise information, including multi-sheet workbooks, filters, functions, and pivot tables.
  • Creates executive-ready presentations in MS PowerPoint that communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Produces clear, enterprise-ready data using PowerBI with documentation in MS Word to communicate complex concepts.
  • Uses MS Visio to depict processes, integrations, and complex concepts in an enterprise-readable format.
  • Uses MS Outlook to schedule and coordinate meetings with internal and external stakeholders across locations.

Salary Range*
$141,600 - 283,250
*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
