Model & Production Cost Development
- Design, develop, and implement advanced optimization for power market
applications-including unit commitment, dispatch, and DC power flow analysis.
Collaboration & Integration
- Work closely with software engineers to operationalize and maintain models, ensuring
seamless integration into production-grade systems.
Data Engineering & Analysis
- Gather, cleanse, and analyze large datasets from diverse sources to validate models,
leveraging best practices in data engineering.
Technical Excellence
- Apply robust operations research methodologies (linear, nonlinear, and integer programming) to translate complex market dynamics into actionable insights.
Technology Stack
- Utilize modern technologies such as Kubernetes for container orchestration, work with APIs for enhanced integration, and employ advanced data engineering tools to ensure scalable and efficient model deployment.
Competitive Candidate Profile
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science,
Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; Master's or PhD preferred.
Industry Experience
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in power market optimization and analytics, with a proven
track record of developing and deploying models-especially production cost models-in a production environment.
Technical Expertise
- Proficiency in operations research theories and applications (linear, nonlinear, and integer programming).
- Experience with optimization modeling languages and solvers, particularly CPLEX and Pyomo.
- Expertise in unit commitment & dispatch algorithms.
- Expertise in Power Flow Modeling.
Software & Data Engineering Skills
- Strong proficiency in Python with a commitment to writing clean, production-grade code and adhering to best coding practices.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes for container orchestration, API development/integration, and modern data engineering practices.
- Ability to bridge the gap between electrical engineering principles and high-quality software development.
