Presidio, Where Teamwork and Innovation Shape the Future
At Presidio, we’re at the forefront of a global technology revolution, transforming industries through cutting-edge digital solutions and next-generation AI. We empower businesses - and their customers - to achieve more through innovation, automation, and intelligent insights.
The Role
As a Senior Software Engineer, you embed directly inside the client's environment, partnering with stakeholders, architects, and delivery teams to build modern cloud-native applications that solve real business problems. You lead implementation of complex software solutions, translate technical designs into production-ready systems, and provide technical leadership through hands-on engineering, collaboration, and mentoring.
Much of the work involves building new applications, modernizing existing platforms, and integrating AI-enabled capabilities where they create meaningful business value. You'll contribute across the full software development lifecycle, work closely with architects to implement scalable technical solutions, support technical discovery and solutioning when needed, and help deliver secure, reliable software that performs in production.
Responsibilities include:
Build & Delivery
- Lead implementation of complex software features and services from design through production deployment.
- Build secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable cloud-native applications using modern engineering practices and reusable design patterns.
- Write, review, test, and improve production-quality code while promoting engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Develop working prototypes and MVPs quickly, gathering feedback early and iterating toward production-ready solutions.
- Own delivery of assigned work from planning through deployment, ensuring quality, reliability, and timely execution.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues across the application stack and drive them to resolution.
Technical Leadership
- Partner with architects and technical leaders to translate solution designs into well-engineered implementations.
- Contribute to system design discussions by identifying implementation risks, dependencies, technical trade-offs, and opportunities to simplify delivery.
- Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing to raise engineering quality across the team.
- Apply sound engineering judgment when balancing technical decisions with business objectives, delivery timelines, and long-term maintainability.
Client Engagement & Consulting
- Partner with client stakeholders and delivery teams to understand business objectives, clarify technical requirements, and deliver solutions aligned to client outcomes.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, dependencies, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Support technical discovery, estimation, solution workshops, and presales activities when needed.
- Produce clear technical documentation and knowledge transfer that enables client teams to successfully operate and evolve delivered solutions.
- Engineering Quality & Operations
- Build software with security, observability, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence as core engineering principles.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, infrastructure-as-code, deployment automation, and modern DevOps practices.
- Identify technical debt, delivery risks, and operational dependencies early, recommending practical improvements before they impact delivery.
- Continuously improve engineering quality through automation, reusable components, testing, monitoring, and modern development practices.
How You Work
- Take ownership of your commitments and consistently deliver high-quality outcomes with accountability and follow-through.
- Collaborate openly across multidisciplinary and global teams, building strong partnerships with teammates, architects, and clients.
- Mentor others through coaching, technical guidance, and constructive feedback while fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Balance delivery speed with sound engineering judgment, making practical decisions that consider quality, maintainability, scalability, and business outcomes.
- Stay curious and continuously learn new technologies, applying AI-assisted development and modern engineering practices where they improve delivery quality and efficiency.
- Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, explaining technical concepts, trade-offs, and recommendations in a way others can act upon.
Required Skills and Professional Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience designing, developing, and delivering production applications.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, C#/.NET, Python, Go, JavaScript/TypeScript, React, or Spring.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs, distributed systems, event-driven applications, and working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Experience with modern software engineering practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Strong understanding of software architecture fundamentals, application performance, resiliency, scalability, observability, secure development, and production operations.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments, including sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and iterative software delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with product management, business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts and trade-offs clearly to a variety of audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% as engagement needs require.
Preferred Skills and Professional Experience
- Experience in consulting, professional services, or client-facing software delivery.
- Experience working as an embedded engineer within client environments.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development, generative AI services, agentic solutions, DevSecOps, platform engineering, or modern automation practices.
- Experience supporting technical discovery, solution workshops, estimation, presales activities, or proof-of-concept development.
- Cloud certifications or equivalent hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications.
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading technical implementation efforts across delivery teams.
