The Role

As a Senior Engineer, Workforce Productivity, you will design, implement, optimize, and support modern workplace solutions that deliver secure, productive, and seamless end-user experiences for Presidio’s enterprise clients. You will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, working across Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint management, collaboration tools (with deep focus on SharePoint architecture), identity/access management, Microsoft Copilot, and hybrid/on-premises environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with client-facing consulting, mentoring of junior engineers, and a focus on operational excellence.

The Role

As a Senior Engineer, Workforce Productivity, you will design, implement, optimize, and support modern workplace solutions that deliver secure, productive, and seamless end-user experiences for Presidio’s enterprise clients. You will serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor, working across Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), endpoint management, collaboration tools (with deep focus on SharePoint architecture), identity/access management, Microsoft Copilot, and hybrid/on-premises environments. This role combines deep technical expertise with client-facing consulting, mentoring of junior engineers, and a focus on operational excellence.

You will help clients modernize their digital workspaces, emphasizing security, user experience, AI-powered productivity via Microsoft Copilot, robust SharePoint information architecture, automation, and compliance while driving billable delivery and practice growth.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning

  • Lead the design and implementation of digital workspace architectures, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoint management (Intune/Autopilot), modern SharePoint architecture (hubs, sites, information architecture, metadata, and governance), collaboration tools, and hybrid identity solutions.
  • Design and enable Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 experiences, including readiness assessments, licensing, prompts/governance, and integration with SharePoint, Teams, and other M365 workloads to drive AI-powered productivity.
  • Develop and maintain standards, policies, and best practices for deployment, configuration, security baselines, troubleshooting, and SharePoint information architecture of workspace technologies.
  • Collaborate with architects, sales teams, and clients to define roadmaps that align technology with business outcomes (e.g., hybrid work enablement, security posture improvement, cost optimization, and AI adoption via Copilot).

Acquisition & Deployment

  • Plan, deploy, and migrate complex digital workspace solutions (cloud, hybrid, on-premises), with emphasis on SharePoint architecture modernization and Microsoft Copilot
  • Evaluate and integrate tools for EUC, VDI (e.g., Citrix, VMware Horizon where applicable), device management, security, and AI capabilities.
  • Perform assessments, proof-of-concepts, and implementations while following client change management and documentation standards.

Operational Management & Support

  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of client digital workspaces; own advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex incidents involving SharePoint, Copilot, and related services.
  • Drive automation (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, scripting) and continual service improvement, including Copilot usage optimization and SharePoint governance.
  • Monitor service health, produce reports/metrics (compliance, patch posture, adoption, Copilot utilization), and maintain SLAs in Managed Services environments.
  • Mentor and provide technical escalation support to mid-level and junior engineers.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in client meetings, workshops, and project delivery on topics including SharePoint architecture and Microsoft Copilot.

Additional Duties

  • Maintain a billable utilization target (typically 70%+ for similar Presidio engineering roles).
  • Contribute to presales activities, knowledge sharing, and practice development, as needed.

Requirements

Experience & Education

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in enterprise infrastructure/digital workspace engineering (or 5+ years at senior level).
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, Intune, Autopilot), modern SharePoint architecture and information management, Active Directory, Group Policy, and hybrid identity (Entra Connect).
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 (enablement, governance, integration, and optimization) and endpoint management, security (Conditional Access, Zero Trust), and collaboration tools.

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience/military background.
  • Preferred certifications: Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Azure Administrator/Enterprise Administrator, and relevant Copilot/SharePoint specialization credentials.
