About the role

Recurly’s Senior Financial Analyst owns opex, COGS, headcount, cash and balance sheet planning for the company and is the finance business partner to our Product and Technology leaders. You’ll run these processes from annual plan through monthly forecast and close, prepare key sections of the board, QBR and private equity sponsor reporting, and automate the repeatable parts of the work as we move planning and reporting to an AI-first operating model.

What you’ll do

Planning and forecasting

  • Own the annual opex and headcount plans and the monthly rolling forecasts across all functions, including workforce assumptions and savings initiatives.
  • Own the COGS and gross margin plan and forecast, including hosting, merchant processing and account updater costs.
  • Own the cash flow, working capital and balance sheet forecasts, and connect them to the P&L in the three-statement model.

Product and Technology partnership

  • Serve as the finance business partner to the CPO and CTO, running monthly reviews of budgets, headcount and vendor spend.
  • Model R&D investment and headcount by product line, and track spend against roadmap priorities.
  • Raise expense risks and opportunities to the CFO and CHRO early, including plan overages, hiring ahead of budget and savings tracking.

Headcount and spend

  • Own headcount reconciliation across HRIS, payroll and plan, including open-role tracking.
  • Review hiring requests and compensation changes against the budget and forecast.
  • Lead vendor reviews and savings tracking, and flag upcoming renewals and spend anomalies.

Close and reporting

  • Deliver monthly and quarterly BvA by function, including the first draft of variance commentary.
  • Own the opex, COGS, headcount, cash and balance sheet sections of the monthly close package and flash report.
  • Work with Accounting on accruals and balance sheet flux to catch forecast impacts early.
  • Automate close and reporting workflows in your area with AI tools, and document the controls and procedures behind them.

Board, investor and executive reporting

  • Prepare the opex, COGS, headcount and cash sections of board and QBR materials, and validate the metrics functions submit.
  • Prepare materials for the monthly private equity sponsor call.
  • Build working capital and net debt analysis for strategic initiatives.

RequirementsWhat you bring
  • 5–7 years in FP&A or corporate finance, ideally at a SaaS or payments company.
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Economics or another quantitative field.
  • Strong three-statement modeling in Excel and Google Sheets, including cash flow, working capital and balance sheet forecasting.
  • Experience partnering with Technology or Product leaders on R&D budgets, headcount and vendor spend.
  • Experience owning a monthly close or reporting package, and a track record of automating a manual finance process.
  • Confidence pushing back on budget owners and presenting clear, data-driven recommendations to executives.

Bonus points

  • Experience with Adaptive Planning, NetSuite or other finance systems.
  • Working SQL skills and comfort pulling data from BigQuery or a similar warehouse.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools to build finance workflows.
  • Experience at a private-equity-backed company.
  • Understanding of SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, gross margin) and cloud hosting cost drivers.
  • Public accounting experience or a CPA
