Job Description:
As the FP&A Analyst for DTN’s Agriculture business, you will own the full spectrum of financial planning and analysis for the team. This is a high-impact, end-to-end role where you will partner closely with the CFO and key business stakeholders to drive performance, surface leading indicators, and support data-driven decision-making across revenue, costs, and operations.
What you will be responsible for:
Revenue Analysis & Reporting:
· Own revenue reporting for the Agriculture business, analysing actuals against budget and forecast, and communicating key drivers to the CFO and senior stakeholders.
· Track and analyse subscription, renewal, and new business revenue trends to identify risks and opportunities.
· Partner with sales and commercial teams to align revenue forecasts with pipeline data and market conditions.
Cost Control & Variance Reporting:
· Monitor and manage operating costs across the Agriculture team, highlighting variances and working with budget owners to drive accountability.
· Prepare monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to budget and prior year, with clear narrative on key movements.
· Identify opportunities to improve margin and operational efficiency through cost analysis and benchmarking.
Planning, Forecasting & Financial Modelling:
· Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecast processes for the Agriculture business, working with department heads to build robust, bottom-up plans.
· Build and maintain financial models to support strategic decisions on pricing, resource allocation, and investment.
· Run scenario and sensitivity analysis to assess the financial impact of different market or business conditions.
Performance & Leading Indicators:
· Define, track, and report on KPIs and leading indicators that give early visibility of business performance to the CFO and leadership team.
· Develop and maintain management reporting packs and dashboards that provide clear, actionable insights across financial and operational metrics.
· Respond to ad hoc analytical requests from the CFO and senior management with clear, concise outputs.
What you will bring to the role:
· 3–5+ years of FP&A experience, ideally within a technology or data/information services business.
· Proven ability to manage end-to-end FP&A processes independently, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly close reporting.
· Strong financial modelling skills with advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with FP&A tools such as Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, or equivalent is a plus.
· Experience with variance analysis, cost control, and management reporting in a P&L ownership environment.
· Comfortable working with large datasets and BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to build dashboards and extract meaningful insights.
· Strong commercial awareness with the ability to translate financial data into clear, concise narratives for non-finance audiences.
· Confident working directly with senior stakeholders and the CFO; able to influence and challenge constructively.
· Self-starter who thrives in a lean team environment, managing multiple priorities with minimal oversight.
