About Haus

Haus is the causal marketing platform top businesses trust to optimize billions in ad spend worldwide. With support from PhD economists, data scientists, and growth experts, Haus’ AI-driven technology translates complex marketing measurement into clear action and outcomes, enabling brands like Dyson, Wayfair, Sonos, Fanduel, SharkNinja, and Intuit to optimize spend, accelerate growth, and make smarter marketing decisions at scale.

The Role

Haus helps the world's leading brands measure the true impact of their marketing spend through geo experiments and causal MMM. Architect is our newest product: it turns that measurement into budget recommendations marketers can review and act on directly in the app.

You'll build Architect end to end, from the Python services that produce a recommendation to the React screens where customers approve it. You'll work closely with product, science, and design on what to build, and with other engineering teams on the systems Architect draws from. This is a full stack role that leans backend.

What you’ll do

  • Design and ship backend services in Python that turn model outputs into recommendations, with correctness and observability from day one

  • Build the React screens that let customers review, edit, and approve those recommendations

  • Integrate Architect with the rest of the Haus platform: define API contracts with other teams and handle failure modes gracefully

  • Work directly with product, science, and design on what to build, not just how

  • Raise the bar on the codebase as you go: tests, monitoring, and the refactors that keep it shippable

  • Use AI coding tools as a normal part of how you work, and be able to explain what you verified and how

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience building and shipping production web applications and APIs

  • Strong backend engineer in Python; most of the day-to-day is service and integration work

  • Working React proficiency: you can build the frontend for your own features

  • Comfortable in an ambiguous, product-facing role: you can take a half-formed request from a PM or scientist and turn it into a scoped plan

  • Experience with relational databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and data-heavy applications

  • Comfort with cloud-native environments (GCP preferred): you understand how to deploy, monitor, and operate services in production

  • Track record of working effectively with AI development tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) and a clear view on how you check their output

  • Excellent communication skills: you can explain technical tradeoffs clearly and work effectively with scientists, product managers, and other engineers

Bonus Points

  • Experience with ad platform APIs (Meta Marketing API, Google Ads API) or experimentation platforms

  • Optimization or recommendation systems: you've shipped something that told a user what to do next

  • Earlier stage startup experience

  • Flask, SQLAlchemy, FastAPI, or similar

  • WFH stipend to support the set up you need to be productive

  • Events & Offsites – opportunities to connect and celebrate in real life!

  • Free Lunch – Grab a bite on us when you choose to work from the office (hub locations include SF, NYC and Seattle)

  • New Parent Leave – take time to welcome your newest Hausmate

We value in-person collaboration at Haus and give preference to candidates within commuting distance of our offices in San Francisco, Seattle, and New York City.
