The Impact You Will Have in This Role

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and modernizing applications that support DTCC's Financial Risk Management platform. This hands-on engineering role focuses on building scalable, high-performance, cloud-native solutions that power analytical and reporting capabilities for internal and external clients.

You will help advance DTCC's cloud modernization strategy by improving application scalability, resiliency, automation, and operational efficiency. Working across the full software development lifecycle, you will partner with architects, product owners, and engineering leaders to deliver secure, reliable, and business-critical solutions.

Your Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices. 
  • Build cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS, OpenShift, containers, and modern deployment practices. 
  • Design and implement event-driven solutions using Kafka and related messaging technologies. 
  • Develop high-performance APIs and distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and security. 
  • Build and maintain automated testing frameworks for APIs, microservices, and cloud-based applications. 
  • Champion Test-Driven Development (TDD), shift-left testing, and automation-first engineering practices. 
  • Integrate automated testing, quality controls, and release automation into CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Optimize application performance and database interactions across Oracle and Snowflake environments. 
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical design discussions, and code reviews. 
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support engineering excellence, modernization, and platform resiliency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience
  • 6-9 years of software engineering experience developing enterprise applications.
  • Talent Needed for Success
  • Strong expertise in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices architectures. 
  • Hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS. 
  • Experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud deployment architectures. 
  • Strong experience with Snowflake or large-scale data warehouse platforms, including database-driven application development. 
  • Experience with Oracle, SQL development, data modeling, and query optimization. 
  • Experience with Apache Kafka, Confluent Kafka, or event-driven architectures. 
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems, messaging patterns, and asynchronous processing. 
  • Experience designing and implementing automated testing frameworks. 
  • Hands-on experience with JUnit, Mockito, REST Assured, Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or similar testing frameworks. 
  • Experience integrating automated testing and quality controls into CI/CD pipelines. 
  • Experience building applications using ReactJS, micro frontends, and single-page application architectures. 
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills. 
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments. 
  • Passion for modern engineering practices, continuous improvement, and technology innovation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Angular and migrations from Angular to ReactJS. 
  • Experience with CI/CD, DevOps, and build automation practices. 
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, CloudBees, Git, SonarQube, Maven, and related development tools. 
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise systems and cloud modernization initiatives. 
  • Experience with performance, load, resiliency, and API testing. 
  • Java, AWS, or Quality Engineering certifications. 
  • Experience within Financial Services, Capital Markets, or other highly regulated industries.

The salary range is indicative for roles at the same level within DTCC across all US locations. Serves as a dedicated technology resource for advancing DTCC’s business opportunities and providing industry thought leadership for leveraging new technology.
