Senior GaN Defect Metrology Engineer

Texas Instruments is looking for an energetic engineer with focus on GaN Technology development in the Yield Engineering/ Defect Metrology space. This position provides the opportunity to drive continual improvement at all levels and advanced technology development opportunities. The responsibilities in this role include:

• Support manufacturing operations in a high-interrupt and rapidly ramping tool install environment. 
• Develop and implement inspection strategy and identify/ resolve defects of interest for GaN Technology development, procedures, and processes that result in improved efficiencies, yields, machine operations, and quality, and a relentless commitment to chase and visualize the data. 
• Develop new processes from the ground up for advanced node development with high-volume manufacturing in mind.
• Implement project or improvement plans for areas of responsibility including but not limited to: efficiency improvements, cost reduction or quality improvement programs, new product support and other process improvements.
• Perform lot and equipment dispositions to support the continuous flow of production and to minimize cycle time in a high volume manufacturing 300mm wafer Fab running Analog Technologies.
• Provide training to junior colleagues and process technicians. Maintain and improve training documentation and procedures. 
• Identify systematic problems in either process or equipment related sources and communicating findings to the engineering staff in a continuous manner.
• Support the manufacturing ramp with execution of equipment/process startup, process experiments (SWRs).
• Participate in data analysis and problem resolution. 
• Collaborate across teams/ branches to solve fab priorities, which can change quickly. 

Minimum requirements:

• 5+ years of experience within the semiconductor industry as a Defect Metrolgoy Engineer or Metrology Process Engineer
• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related field

• Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies

  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Proficiency with Python, Claude, or other AI models or tools is a plus
• Experience with Brightfield and Darkfield Inspection theory/techniques
• Experience with Review SEM and SEM-related analysis techniques
• Strong understanding of GaN integration and defects of interest.
• Ability to develop an empty process space from conception to high-volume manufacturing. 
• Ability to work with Big Data and quickly assimilate disparate data sources into digestible visualizations.
