As a member of the Hardware Product Management team, you will be responsible for the Silicon Labs IoT products starting from concept to plan and customer alphas. You will be required to interact with a wide range of cross functional teams including silicon design, product test, validation, software product management & engineering, project management and business management to ensure the best of the products come to the market.

As a team, hardware product management:

  • Provides leadership and vision on IC product roadmap and requirements.

  • Continuously improves our portfolio offering, balancing business needs with R&D efficiency.

  • Creates product roadmaps based on various segment inputs to meet the requirements for a diverse range of applications

Responsibilities

  • Define SoC product requirements, features, specifications, and system KPIs for core CPU, co-processors, accelerators, power management, digital and analog peripherals, security sub-system, radio sub-system, and packages.

  • Map market systems application requirements to product use cases, including system block diagrams, compute and peripheral requirements, and protocol stack features and performance requirements for Wi-Fi, Matter, Thread, ZigBee, Bluetooth Low Energy, Bluetooth Classic, Sidewalk, Wi-SUN, and proprietary protocols.

  • Define hardware and evaluation tools for customers, including debug interfaces such as JTAG, SWD, ETM trace, PTI, virtual communication port requirements, and user interfaces such as push buttons, LCDs, LEDs, analog joysticks, and RHT sensors.

  • Collaborate with leaders and individual contributors across functional teams such as IC design, product test, software development, product and segment marketing, applications, operations, and sales to develop long-term innovation ideas, roadmap, and silicon definition.

  • Drive the product development process from concept through definition and pitch the most promising product ideas to executive staff.

  • Conduct key competitive analysis, including tear-down at the die level and various spec analyses, to provide conclusive takeaways for design, specification, and fighting guides.

  • Manage the entire portfolio of scalable products with clear mapping to target applications.  

Skills You Will Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • BSEE/BSCS (or equivalent) and 6+ years of experience in semiconductor product management or IoT industry

  • Core development experience in IC front end / architecture / verification / embedded systems

  • Knowledge of key architectural considerations for PPA, including power estimation, die size estimation, and fundamental process node technology principles.

  • Knowledge of Wireless Modem and RF Design principles for any of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 802.15.4, and other Low Power Wireless standards

  • Proven ability to work successfully at a technical level with cross-functional engineering teams, including hardware and software engineers 

  • Experience developing business cases for Technology investments working with Business Unit partners, sensitivity analysis of business case to variables under consideration.  

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, especially to executive management

The following qualifications will be considered a plus:

  • Development experience in either wireless or wired communication protocols

  • MBA or equivalent business graduation

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $124,600 - $231,400 USD. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location where work will be performed and applicant’s skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual cash bonus, equity package and a comprehensive benefits package.
