Lead and grow the IT department, manage infrastructure (servers, networks, cloud, endpoints), oversee projects, budgets, policies, ensure security and compliance, and coordinate with leadership and other departments.
As manager of the Information Technology department, you will be responsible for managing the company’s IT infrastructure and operations. In addition to providing hands-on technical support as part of our IT team, you will develop strategies and plans to support the diverse IT needs of our small business and interface with senior leadership of the company. METECS is a growing small business and we are looking for someone to grow our IT team and infrastructure as we expand our business.
Responsibilities:
- Manage IT team members to provide maintenance and operation of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, computing hardware, cloud deployments and enterprise software.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the IT department projects, budget, policies, and procedures.
- Communicate with company leadership regarding status and future plans for IT department.
- Collaborate with other department managers and project managers to assess and support IT needs.
- Ensure the IT team provides timely resolution of user issues and requests.
- Support IT operational and compliance needs of both commercial and government projects.
- Oversee implementation and maintenance of security controls across infrastructure, cloud environments, and end-user devices.
- Work with the Information Security Manager to identify risks and vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with ISO 27001 policies and procedures.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years hands-on IT leadership and project management.
- Experience working within and configuring Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, Windows, and Microsoft 365 resources.
- Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong management, communication, and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Capacity for strategic thinking, planning, and decision-making.
Desired:
- Experience supporting both government and commercial IT requirements.
- Experience with cybersecurity requirements, monitoring and controls (ISO 27001, NIST 800 171).
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, code repositories, and CI tools.
- Linux system administration experience.
Citizenship or lawful permanent resident required due to federal position.
