About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Artificial Intelligence Solutions Consultant Architect to lead the architecture, design and execution of enterprise AI capabilities, with a focus on Generative and Agentic-AI technologies. This role will work and partner with cross-functional teams to build scalable, intelligent solutions that transform user experiences and operational efficiency across the enterprise.
In this role, you will:
Architecture Leadership & Technical Oversight
  • Lead the end-to-end architecture of enterprise-grade AI solutions, including Generative AI, Agentic AI, and hybrid systems.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, best practices, and governance models.
  • Provide technical oversight across AI initiatives, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.

Strategic Governance & Thought Leadership
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI strategies with business objectives.
  • Influence and guide the enterprise AI roadmap, identifying opportunities for innovation and transformation.
  • Represent the AI function in strategic planning forums and executive reviews.

Executive Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Translate complex AI concepts into business-relevant narratives for C-level stakeholders.
  • Present solution architectures, value propositions, and impact assessments to executive leadership.
  • Build trust and credibility through clear, confident, and compelling communication.

Mentorship & Enablement
  • Mentor and coach junior architects, data scientists, and engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation within the AI community.
  • Enable teams through architectural reviews, design sessions, and hands-on guidance.

Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of Artificial Intelligence Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with AI/ML architecture, solution design and delivery.
  • Proven expertise in transformer-based architecture (e.g., GPT, BERT, LLaMA) and SLMs.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and Hugging Face Transformers.
  • Proven expertise in Generative AI (LLMs, diffusion models, etc.) and Agentic AI (autonomous agents, multi-agent systems).
  • Hands-on experience with AI platforms (e.g., Google Vertex AI, Azure AI, AWS SageMaker, etc.), orchestration tools, and MLOps frameworks.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in AI architecture, guiding teams through complex design decisions and risk evaluations.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering, model lifecycle management, and AI governance.
  • Certifications in cloud engineering and architecture (e.g., Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) preferred.
  • Publications, patents, or speaking engagements in AI-related domains preferred.
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field preferred.

Job Expectations:
  • This position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship.
  • Ability to work on site per Wells Fargo's standard operating model in the listed location (hybrid schedule - 3 days on-site & 2 remote).
  • The ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
