Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Manager of Field Applications Engineering (FAE) to lead a high‑performance team supporting world‑class datacenter customers across AI, server, and networking markets.

This is a player–coach position: you will balance hands‑on technical ownership of key programs with strategic leadership of a growing team. You will drive customer success in digital multiphase power delivery and module‑based system power solutions while developing and mentoring the next generation of FAEs.

Responsibilities:

Player Responsibilities (Hands‑On Technical Leadership)

  • Act as the lead technical interface for strategic datacenter accounts, driving system‑level power architecture engagements from concept to production.
  • Provide expert support on digital multiphase controllers, power modules, and server‑class power delivery architectures.
  • Perform schematic reviews, layout feedback, validation planning, bring‑up, power sequencing analysis, transient response evaluation, and debug.
  • Deliver customer-facing documentation including validation results, updates, and program closure reports.
  • Rapidly troubleshoot complex power issues using oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, and load transient tools.
  • Manage and drive issue escalations with internal engineering teams to ensure rapid, high-quality resolution.

Coach Responsibilities (People & Team Leadership)

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of FAEs across digital power and datacenter disciplines.
  • Set role clarity, expectations, and technical development targets for each team member.
  • Build onboarding and training plans for new college graduates and junior FAEs, ensuring readiness for lab work and customer engagement.
  • Guide resource allocation, balancing customer priorities with team bandwidth and skill set.
  • Conduct performance reviews, support career development, and establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and technical rigor.

Customer & Program Leadership

  • Own technical program execution for top datacenter customers, covering AI accelerators, CPU platforms, servers, and networking systems.
  • Partner closely with Sales GAMs to align priorities, program sequencing, and allocation of FAE resources.
  • Maintain program visibility through dashboards, tracking milestones, risks, capex requirements, and next‑step actions.
  • Ensure consistent execution across teams in schematic/layout phases, validation, reporting, and customer closure.
  • Provide clear and actionable program updates to senior leadership.

Internal Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with Product Line, Marketing, and Sales Enablement teams to provide customer-driven product feedback and influence future roadmaps.
  • Champion field insights related to next-generation digital multiphase power solutions and module-based architectures.
  • Coordinate technical handoffs and shared engagements across global FAE teams.
  • Support the creation of technical content, training, and best practices shared across the broader FAE organization.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in power electronics, digital multiphase power delivery, server/AI platform power, or related hardware systems.
  • Proven hands‑on experience with power modules, digital multiphase controllers, VRMs, and high‑current, low‑voltage conversion for datacenter platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in lab‑based debug, including oscilloscopes, current probes, electronic loads, and transient analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface directly with customers on complex technical topics and drive issues to closure.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, manager, or equivalent player–coach role).
  • Experience supporting system bring‑up, validation, or debug for server, AI accelerator, or networking hardware.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to varied audiences.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience supporting hyperscale datacenter customers (e.g., AWS, Google, Microsoft, Meta, NVIDIA).
  • Expertise in system‑level power architecture for AI/ML accelerators, CPUs, or high‑end networking platforms.
  • Familiarity with PMBus, telemetry systems, and digital control for multiphase power.
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously across fast‑moving customer environments.
  • Proven success in developing early‑career engineers and building high‑performance technical teams.
  • Strong cross‑functional leadership experience with Product Line, Marketing, Sales, or Systems Engineering organizations.
