The Basics

Tanium is seeking a highly skilled Senior Netsuite Engineer with a deep expertise of accounting processes and best practices in NetSuite that will help deliver automation and custom solutions to our Finance organizationThe right candidate will be very knowledgeable of NetSuite as well as other related financial systems such as Coupa, Zip and Concur.  The candidate must have excellent trouble-shooting skills and the ability to analyze data integrations with other upstream or downstream systemsThe Senior Netsuite Engineer will be responsible for administrative functions (roles, permissions, access controls, bi-annual releases) as well as technical consulting, solutioning and hands-on development. Furthermore, the Senior Netsuite Engineer must possess highly detailed documentation skills and be able to collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform testing and ensure seamless transitions during upgrades. The Senior Netsuite Engineer will report to the Manager, Corporate Systems, and work closely with all areas of our Finance team  

This position follows the Company’s hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Addison, TX; Bellevue, WA; Durham, NC; Emeryville, CA; or Reston, VA.

What you'll do

  • Configure and customize the NetSuite system to align with the organization’s business processes and requirements including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and General Ledger. 
  • Architect scalable NetSuite solutions that integrate seamlessly with upstream and downstream systems (e.g. procurement, billing, expense management, data warehouse). 
  • Develop and maintain SuiteScripts, SuiteApps and RESTlets to support automation and integrations. 
  • Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions with clear documentation. 
  • Understanding of financial close processes including journals, reconciliations, accruals, consolidations. 
  • Ensure compliance with SOX, GAAP and audit requirements through appropriate controls, approvals and audit trails. 
  • Day-to-day system administration. 
  • Exceptional documentation skills with an emphasis on abstracting data to suit the needs of the stakeholder. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to perform testing and ensure seamless transitions during upgrades. 
  • Drive system performance, scalability and reliability improvements. 

We’re looking for someone with

  • 5+ years of experience with NetSuite ERP and ARM in a similar role. 
  • Demonstrated experience as a NetSuite Administrator, Engineer or similar role, including hands-on experience configuring and customizing NetSuite. 
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems, database management and system integration concepts. 
  • Prior experience with security and access management within NetSuite. 
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) processes and methodologies. 
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban). 
  • Knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition method. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive and analytical approach to troubleshooting. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
  • NetSuite certifications (Administrator, SuiteFoundation, etc.) are a plus.

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $270,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.
