SkyGrid, a Wisk Company, exists to open the sky for autonomous flight. Based in Austin, Texas, SkyGrid builds ground-based high-assurance third-party services to enable the safe operations and airspace integration of highly automated and autonomous aircraft. SkyGrid also acts as a key operational nexus for advanced air mobility, integrating and managing data, infrastructure, access, and traffic to support seamless and efficient air traffic services. 

The SkyGrid team is looking for a Senior People Operations Manager to support our local and remote team. This person will collaborate with the leadership team to develop strategies that prioritize employee well-being, engagement, and workforce growth. This person will also oversee and support our Talent Acquisition and Facilities departments. 

Performance Objectives:

  • Closely monitor employee retention and identify avenues for ensuring a supportive, positive, employee first work culture. 
  • Oversee Talent Acquisition operations and identify recruiting strategies that minimize the time to fill metrics.
  • Improve upon current processes and policies.  
  • Prioritize employee training and development with a focus on new manager development support. 
  • Improve the current Performance Review process.  

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Talent Acquisition department processes and deliverables.  
  • Ensure Talent Acquisition department success by closely teaming up with recruiters to manage full cycle recruiting.
  • Facilitate annual compensation review to enable equitable pay practices across departments. 
  • Oversee Performance Management System and conduct mid-year and annual review companywide including shared resources from parent company.  
  • Work with leadership and managers to implement effective performance reviews. Set goals and coach managers to consistently provide sync ups to support team members with goal progression. 
  • Prioritize employee satisfaction by creating a positive, open, and welcoming environment. 
  • Manage internal Culture Committee activities to enhance Employee Experience.  
  • Partner on facilities related requests and projects. 
  • Annually update Handbook to ensure compliance across multiple states.   
  • Maintain and monitor employment eligibility and verification documentation including work authorization support and company sponsorships. 
  • Create initiatives that support our parent company people resources.  
  • Conduct anonymous employee surveys and act on discoveries by implementing positive changes and improvements.
  • Oversee onboarding process including identifying areas of improvement. 
  • Oversee offboarding process including exit interviews to identify areas of improvement. 
  • Prioritize career development for all SkyGrid employees. 
  • Support employees through conflict resolution in a prompt manner to ensure a pleasant workplace environment.
  • Maintain employee records.  
  • Collaborate with managers to identify and recommend learning and development opportunities. 
  • Oversee HRIS activities including payroll, data management, time and attendance, and annual benefits renewal. 
  • Monitor key metrics including time to fill and retention.  
  • Consistently look for ways to enhance current processes, policies, and procedures. 
  • Report to SkyGrid HQ on a Hybrid schedule. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of seven years of HR/People Ops experience.  
  • Bachelor's degree.   
  • SHRM or PHR certification. 
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance and practices. 
  • Experience with compensation strategies and performance management.  
  • Demonstrated experience in developing new policies and procedures that support a start-up environment.  
  • Be able to uphold high levels of confidentially. 
  • Be approachable, empathetic, and patient.  
  • Prior experience in a fact-pace, evolving start-up environment.  
  • Be adaptable and open to change.  
  • Be able to collaborate and present to C-level executives.  
  • Experience with HRIS tools. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Workday.
