Department Overview
This position will be part of the NGCS Presales Architecture team. The Senior Presales Solution Architect is the technical integration team expert responsible for defining and designing customer-driven, end-to-end solutions across Motorola’s Next Generation 9-1-1 Call Processing and/or NG9-1-1 Next Generation Core Services (NGCS) Call Routing systems, He/she will provide technical leadership on projects/sales opportunities work together with other Solution Architects on these projects.
Job Description

The Senior Presales Engineer will collaborate with the Sales, Product Management, Systems Engineering, and Quoting & Pricing teams to support the development of customer designs and proposals nationwide.  You will primarily be focused on owning the technical architecture and strategy, interface design, pre-sales engineering diagrams, equipment lists, validating system quotations for accuracy, and validation against design drawings. You will also be responsible for the development of pre-sales Statements of Work, as needed, for inclusion into proposals and/or contract documents. The position requires the ability to analyze a customer’s existing system and design complex solutions that meet the customers need.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary owner for technical solution designs, translating customer needs into complex system architectures.

  • Provide detailed technical responses for budgetary, sole-source, and competitive bid responses within tight deadlines.

  • Partner with Sales for customer meetings, site walks, and requirements gathering to ensure technical alignment.

  • Lead product demonstrations at regional/national trade shows and during on-site customer engagements.

  • Own the technical solution for a customer design

  • Work independently and in partnership with the Public Safety Applications sales, engineering, product management, proposals, pricing, and system implementation teams to provide technical responses for budgetary, sole source and competitive bid responses within a highly defined time period

  • Complete comprehensive system requirements documentation and participate in all relevant project reviews.

  • Provide product demonstration support for on-site customer meetings, regional and national trade shows

  • Work on detailed technical requirements for Request for Proposals (RFP)

  • Complete various system requirements documentation and participate in various project review and meetings

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with 4+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, or solutions architecture

  • OR 8+ years of experience in sales, sales engineering, or solutions architecture

  • Emergency Number Professional (ENP) certification is highly preferred 

  • Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with NG9-1-1, NGCS, NG9-1-1 GIS, NENA i3 standards, as well as call-handling ecosystems (e.g., VESTA ECH systems) and enterprise network security appliances preferred

  • Provide product demonstration support for on-site customer meetings, regional and national trade shows

  • Work on detailed technical requirements for Request for Proposals (RFP)

  • Complete various system requirements documentation and participate in various project review and meetings

Target Base Salary Range: $110,000 - $135,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
