What It’s Like to Work at GoGuardian

We are an outcomes-focused learning company with a steadfast focus on improving learning environments, one classroom at a time. Working with us means joining a remote team of diverse, committed, mission-driven employees who are inspired by our vision, dedicated to our customers, and ready to roll up their sleeves. Guardians put their heads together to solve problems, learn together from experiments that fail, and stand together by their work with full accountability. We balance our diligence with an inclusive culture that invites everyone to bring their whole self to work. Join us and learn why “I love the people here” is one of the most frequent comments we hear from Guardians.

The Role

GoGuardian's New Products team operates like a startup inside the company: a small senior team with its own mandate, its own operating space, and a direct line to leadership. In the last four months the team has shipped two new products into real schools, and there is more on the way. We are hiring a Senior Product Designer to own the end-to-end user experience for one of these products.

This is a high-autonomy seat. You’ll lead the design for your product, from strategy and interaction design to polished visual craft, and become a trusted voice for UX decisions. Focusing on one product gives you the depth most designers rarely have room for: fewer context switches, deeper customer understanding, and the space to build genuine expertise in the digital safety insights space.

You will not be doing this alone. You'll report to and partner closely with our Lead UX Designer, giving you regular coaching from someone with deep hands-on design experience. You'll collaborate closely on design direction, share work early and often, and contribute to the principles and experiences that will shape our newest products for years to come. You'll also work closely with Product and Engineering from early strategy and discovery through implementation, bringing your perspective to a highly collaborative team and learning from theirs.

We keep our processes lightweight and adaptable, experimenting with new ways of working as the team and products evolve. You'll have a clear mandate, real data, real customers, PM partners, and a senior engineering team, along with the trust and support to make thoughtful decisions.

What You'll Do

  • Own the end-to-end user experience for one of our products, from early strategy through polished, shipped design.
  • Make strategic design decisions grounded in product goals and customer needs, and become the person the team goes to for UX decisions.
  • Bring fresh ideas and a clear point of view to the digital safety insights space.
  • Collaborate closely with PMs and senior engineers from strategy and discovery through implementation, making thoughtful tradeoffs and shipping at a weekly cadence.
  • Partner with PMs to learn from real users, synthesize qualitative and quantitative evidence, and turn what you learn into clear product and design direction.
  • Turn complex product challenges into experiences that help our users quickly understand what matters and confidently take the next step.
  • Partner with our Lead UX Designer to refine design direction and help maintain a cohesive, high-quality experience across our growing product portfolio.
  • Help build a strong design culture by bringing curiosity, thoughtful feedback, and a willingness to challenge assumptions while helping the team arrive at better decisions together.

Who You Are

  • You've designed and shipped live software products, including at least one you owned end to end from concept through launch. We will ask, specifically, what you designed, how you influenced the product, and what happened after it shipped.
  • You bring strong judgment and comfort navigating ambiguity. You've owned design for a product or major product area, using research, collaboration, and sound judgment to shape the path forward when there wasn't a clear playbook.
  • You understand the "why" behind the work. You connect design decisions to customer needs, product goals, and business outcomes.
  • You create clarity from complexity. Whether our users are navigating data, workflows, or new systems, you design experiences that help them quickly understand what's happening and confidently take the next step.
  • You bring strong craft across both interaction and visual design. You have a high bar for quality and attention to detail, and you care about getting the details right because they shape the overall experience.
  • You bring people along. You explain your design decisions clearly, invite feedback early, and build alignment with PMs and engineers.
  • You care deeply about the people you design for. K-12 or education technology experience is a plus, not a requirement. Caring about whether schools are safe and engaging places to learn is.

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay, complete health insurance, 401(k) matching, and an employee equity plan.
  • Flexible time off, paid holidays, paid parental leave, and a paid year-end holiday break.
  • A robust catalog of benefits that support your professional growth and personal wellbeing, including work from home funds, fertility & adoption reimbursement, and more…

Plus the intangible:

  • A varied and challenging role in an innovative, global company.
  • Supportive, driven colleagues who have your back and share your passion.

The typical base salary range for this position is $145,000-165,000 per year. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay for this position and your pay will be determined by a variety of factors, including your primary work location, skills, qualifications and experience.
