The Role

As a Senior Product Manager, Lending, you will own the end-to-end development of our lending products, shaping the roadmap to align with Step’s broader business goals. You will operate at the intersection of customer experience, loan performance, underwriting, and partner ecosystems — balancing growth, risk, and compliance as we scale. You’ll use data-driven insights to define priorities, work cross-functionally to execute product strategies, and collaborate with external lending partners. 

What You’ll Do
  • Define & Drive Strategy – Partner with leadership to refine Step’s lending product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives.
  • Prioritize with Data – Leverage analytics, user insights, and industry trends to identify high-impact features, optimizations, and experiments.
  • Execute with Excellence – Work cross-functionally with design, engineering, data science, legal, compliance, operations, finance, and external lending partners to build, launch, and scale products.
  • Optimize & Iterate – Monitor key product metrics, measure impact, and iterate based on learnings to continuously enhance the customer experience.
What You Bring
  • 8+ years of product management experience, preferably in consumer fintech products.
  • A track record of scaling consumer lending products, from ideation to launch and growth.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience using BigQuery, Looker, Mixpanel, or similar analytics tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders.
  • Deep customer empathy and a passion for building products that deliver real value.
  • A proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with a bias for action.
  • Bonus: Background in software engineering or technical product management.
