About Clever
Clever is a venture-backed real estate technology company on a mission to revolutionize the way people buy, sell, and manage real estate. We are at the forefront of innovation, combining cutting-edge technology with deep industry expertise to create seamless, efficient, and transparent real estate experiences.

We've built the leading online education platform in real estate and earned a 4.9 TrustPilot rating with over 3,800 reviews - helping consumers save over $210 million in real estate fees. If you're excited to play a key role at a company that transforms how people navigate their real estate journey, we’d love to hear from you!

Role Overview

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to help build and scale the core communications systems that power Clever’s business.

This is a highly cross-functional, systems-oriented product role focused on our Communications Systems — calls, texts, routing, logging, follow-up workflows, and communication visibility across Twilio, Kixie, Five9, and similar platforms. These are the systems
that help our teams, agents, customers, and partners move faster with more confidence.

This role will report to Product leadership and serve as a critical partner across the organization, helping Clever scale the systems that power our marketplace and improve how leads, data, communication, and partner workflows move through the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own backend and operational systems that support Clever's growth
  • Partner with senior engineers to define requirements for APIs, integrations, data flows, internal tools, and workflow automation
  • Translate ambiguous business and operational problems into clear specs, MVPs, tradeoffs, and measurable outcomes
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve data quality, automate workflows, and build more reliable systems
  • Define success metrics and instrumentation to verify systems are working as intended
  • Use AI tools heavily to accelerate research, discovery, documentation, prototyping, analysis, and execution
  • Communications: improve telecom, call, SMS, routing, logging, consent, attribution, and follow-up workflows

What Success Looks Like

In 6 months… Deep understanding of Clever's systems and workflows; trust earned across Engineering, Operations, and Product leadership; highest-impact gaps identified and turned into a clear roadmap; early improvements shipped.

In 12 months… Materially improved reliability, visibility, and scalability of a core system; manual workflows reduced or replaced; engineering moving faster with clearer direction; leadership has better visibility into system health.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of product management experience owning complex systems, integrations, operations platforms, or technical products
  • Technical fluency with APIs, data flows, backend systems, third-party platforms, and engineering tradeoffs
  • Strong systems thinking — understands how workflows, data, teams, and tools connect and where they break
  • Experience turning messy manual processes into scalable systems
  • AI-native working style — actively uses AI tools to accelerate product work
  • Clear written communication: specs, problem briefs, tradeoff docs, decision memos
  • Strong business judgment connecting backend systems to revenue, efficiency, quality, and risk
  • Experience in at least one of: telecom/contact center systems (Twilio, Kixie, Five9, etc.) or partner integrations, APIs, lead routing, and data quality

Nice to Have Real estate, fintech, marketplace, or partner-driven business experience; SQL familiarity; TCPA/CAN-SPAM compliance experience

You May Not Be a Fit If You're primarily a front-end or marketing PM; you're not actively using AI tools; you're uncomfortable discussing APIs, data flows, or system tradeoffs; you prefer feature-surface work over underlying systems and operations.
