We are developing a unified platform with web and chatbot interfaces to enable seamless self-service for customers. These systems will integrate advanced ERP functionalities, loan management software, and API-driven services to deliver an end-to-end solution for African importers.

Role Overview

We are looking to onboard our first Product Manager on the team to lead the design, development, and implementation of our platform. The ideal candidate must be a leader with deep technical skills, a strategic mindset, a strong understanding of first principles and systems thinking, and a passion for building scalable, high-performance platforms. They should understand the dynamics of operating in an early stage business environment and be willing to take initiative. They must think and act like an owner, delivering exceptional service with the highest level of professionalism.  

As a solo Product Manager working closely with senior management and a lean engineering team, you will drive integration with core systems (ERP and loan management software), API development, and the implementation of the customer-facing applications such as a WhatsApp chatbot and web portal. Key Responsibilities

1. Product Strategy and Roadmap Development

  • Define the product vision for Credify’s customer-facing platforms and core systems (ERP and loan management software), in alignment with our business goals.

  • Develop and maintain a detailed roadmap for product development, highlighting dependencies on APIs and third-party integrations.

  • Work closely with engineering teams to align on the choice of frameworks, tools, and technologies.

  • Report periodically to Senior Management on key deliverables in a timely manner. 

2. Execution (Implementation of Web app and API Integrations)

  • Define requirements for APIs to support self-service functionality (e.g., shipment booking, loan applications, real-time shipment tracking) and oversee the seamless integration of the customer-facing applications with the ERP and loan management software 

  • Employ agile methodologies and collaborate with internal and agency engineering teams to drive implementation while ensuring that data flow between systems is secure, scalable, and efficient.

  • Evaluate third-party tools, platforms, or custom development to support key workflows such as loan disbursement, shipment tracking, financial reporting and customer account management.

  • Work closely with QA teams, define acceptance criteria and ensure high-quality releases.

3. Chatbot development

  • Work with engineering and design teams to build WhatsApp chatbot that integrates seamlessly with backend systems.

  • Define chatbot workflows, intents, and natural language understanding (NLU) capabilities to optimize user experience.

  • Ensure the web application has responsive design, role-based access control (RBAC), and integration with analytics tools.

4. Data Analytics and Reporting

  • Contribute to the development of data models and schemas for capturing customer data across platforms.

  • Implement analytics pipelines to track user behavior, feature adoption, and system performance.

  • Work with stakeholders to enable real-time reporting on key metrics like loan application status, shipment tracking, and payment histories.

  • Drive post-launch feedback loops for continuous product improvement.

5. Team Leadership and Collaboration

  • Act as the technical liaison between cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, operations, and external vendors.

  • Mentor junior product team members, sharing expertise on integration best practices, and agile methodologies.

  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

6. Advocacy and Evangelism

  • Act as the product’s advocate within the organization, ensuring its importance is recognized and supported.

  • Educate teams and stakeholders about the product’s value and impact.

  • Represent the product externally at conferences, webinars, and customer meetings.

Qualifications

Must have

  • 5+ years in product management, with at least 2 years of domain expertise in B2B platform development and Supply Chain and/or Finance; Bachelor’s or advanced technical degree or MBA or is a plus

  • Strong understanding of third-party integrations, APIs, ERP systems, and loan management software.

  • Experience collaborating with designers to create customer-facing interfaces and workflows.

  • Proficiency with agile tools and practices, including Jira, Trello, or similar.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with chatbot development and NLU frameworks like Dialogflow, Rasa, or similar.

  • Understanding of financial compliance frameworks (e.g., AML, KYC)

  • Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools like Metabase, Tableau, Power BI, or Google Analytics.
