The Senior Product Marketing Manager will own the go-to-market strategy for the Harness Internal Developer Portal, driving messaging, positioning, sales enablement, and customer engagement within the software delivery lifecycle.
The summary above was generated by AI

Harness is the AI Software Delivery Platform company, led by technologist and entrepreneur Jyoti Bansal (founder of AppDynamics, acquired by Cisco for $3.7B). Harness has raised approximately $570M in funding and is valued at $5.5B, backed by leading investors including Goldman Sachs, Menlo Ventures, IVP, Unusual Ventures, Citi Ventures, and more. As AI accelerates code creation, the real bottleneck has shifted to everything after the code – testing, deployments, application security, reliability, compliance, and cost optimization. Harness brings AI and automation to this “outer loop,” helping teams ship software faster while maintaining security and governance throughout the entire software delivery lifecycle.

Powered by Harness AI and the Software Delivery Knowledge Graph, the Harness Platform applies deep context and intelligent automation across the software delivery lifecycle with governance and policy-driven controls embedded throughout the platform.

Over the past year, Harness powered over 185M deployments, 82M builds, 18T flag evaluations, 8M security scans, 9.1B optimized tests, 3T protected API calls, and helped manage $2.8B in cloud spend — enabling customers like United Airlines, Morningstar, and Choice Hotels to accelerate releases by up to 75%, reduce cloud costs by up to 60%, and achieve 10x DevOps efficiency.

With a global team across 26 offices and 25 countries, Harness is shaping the future of AI software delivery — and we’re looking for exceptional talent to help us move even faster.

Position Summary

Harness is redefining how companies deliver and release software with speed, safety, and confidence. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM), you will own the go-to-market story for Harness Internal Developer Portal — the “front door” for the platform and the automation backbone for developer self-service.

This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product, sales, and marketing. Think of this role as the mini-CMO for your module(s). You’ll drive messaging, competitive positioning, sales enablement, customer storytelling, and analyst engagement while also influencing the roadmap with win/loss insights and customer feedback. It’s strategic, visible, and broad in scope, with plenty of hands-on execution to bring the story to life.
About the role

  • Own the category positioning for Harness Internal Developer Portal
  • Define messaging, value props, and competitive differentiation vs. Backstage, Port, Cortex and others.
  • Partner with Product to bring customer and market insights directly into roadmap decisions.

Sales & Field Enablement

  • Build playbooks, training, and competitive battlecards that help the field win.
  • Support high-stakes opportunities with product and persona expertise.
  • Ability to jump on a call at the last minute to demo the product for a prospect and help sales win the next meeting.
  • Identify and write compelling customer success stories that highlight business outcomes.

  • Lead win/loss and competitive intelligence to keep Harness sharp against market trends.
  • Gather and synthesize customer/market feedback to improve messaging and influence product strategy.
About you
  • 7+ years in product marketing or a technical role (product management, solutions engineering, architecture).
  • Strong foundation in the software delivery lifecycle — you understand how developers ship and manage code.
  • Experience with developer and DevOps tooling. You understand how ideas become valuable software and what holds developers back.
  • Equally comfortable shaping high-level strategy and demoing features hands-on.
  • Exceptional communicator with a knack for turning technical detail into compelling customer value stories.
  • Collaborative, creative, and energized by working across product, sales, and marketing.

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience in marketing or competing in the developer portal category and/or the artifact registry category.
  • You have been a software developer earlier in your career.
    What Success Looks Like

To give you a sense of the impact we care about, here are a few example metrics we use to measure success in this role. You don’t need to have all of these in your background — but if you do, highlight them in your resume:

    • Pipeline influenced or created by your campaigns, content, or enablement.
    • Sales confidence & adoption of your playbooks, training, and competitive tools.
