Summary
The Senior Project Manager reports to the Division Manager and is responsible for financial performance and client satisfaction across multiple projects. This role sets and drives project goals for Safety, Quality, and Productivity (SQP), supports Division-specific initiatives, manages Project Management team members, and contributes to business planning and performance. Ensures job satisfaction through strong partnerships and the consistent application of Kent Companies’ hallmarks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Lead by example while mentoring and developing project teams to build bench strength and support long-term succession planning.
    • Provide oversight, direction, and accountability for project staff while promoting a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
    • Champion training, certification, and professional development initiatives across the team.
  • Preconstruction & Strategic Planning
    • Partner with Project Leadership, Preconstruction Management, and key stakeholders to develop strategic project plans that align with clients’ schedule & objectives while driving company profitability. 
    • Lead development of preliminary schedules, budgets, and execution strategies.
    • Contribute to division-level planning, costs to complete, and overall business performance.
  • Project Setup & Controls
    • Oversee project setup including contract review, risk identification, cost structure, and implementation of project controls (cost codes, PO logs, submittals, etc.)
    • Ensure all systems and processes are in place to effectively manage cost, schedule, and documentation’
  • Project Execution & Financial Performance
    • Maintain full ownership of project performance including cost, schedule, cash flow, and safety.
    • Monitor productivity, job costs, and quantities... proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective actions.
    • Lead change order strategy, pricing, and negotiations to ensure alignment with contract terms and client expectations.
    • Oversee execution from mobilization through closeout, ensuring quality, efficiency, and contract compliance.
    • Drive risk management practices across all phases of the project.
  • Client Relations & Communication
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships through proactive communication and problem-solving.
    • Communicate key updates, risks, and opportunities to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications 

  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Project Manager in construction or a related field
  • At least 10 years of overall construction experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of project management and estimating experience with a large-scale self-perform GC or concrete contractor
  • Proven experience managing self-performed concrete work
  • Experience delivering commercial, data center, and industrial concrete projects
  • Familiarity with projects exceeding $4 million in value
  • Strong background in estimating, bidding, and proposal development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s). 
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Work Environment & Physical Demand 
This position works in an office environment; occasionally traveling to the field to supervise projects as required. This position requires long periods of sitting.

Position Type, Travel, and Work Schedule 

  • Position Type & Travel: This full-time office position requires travel to local job locations in and around Pflugerville. 
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a standard full-time schedule; however, additional hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines. Due to construction-related demands, the position requires flexibility to work non-typical days and irregular hours. The role also requires availability to respond to phone calls outside of standard business hours.
