Job Description

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a Senior Manager, Revenue Recognition to join our team in Austin, TX and own the operational core of our revenue close — from period open to final posting in Zuora Revenue (RevPro). This is a hands-on role built for someone with deep technical accounting roots and the operational discipline to run a clean, repeatable close every month.

If you've built your foundation in Big 4 audit, moved into an operational revenue role, and found yourself genuinely invested in getting the subledger right — this might be the right next step.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the end-to-end monthly open and close process in **Zuora Revenue (RevPro)**, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit-readiness every cycle

  • Oversee the integration and posting of revenue-related journal entries into the GL, ensuring proper classification and completeness

  • Review and maintain key balance sheet reconciliations including deferred revenue, contract assets, and unbilled AR

  • Provide ad-hoc technical accounting analysis and ASC 606 guidance on complex transactions, contract modifications, and escalations

  • Serve as a senior mentor to the revenue accounting team — reviewing work, building skills, and maintaining a high standard of quality

  • Continuously improve revenue close procedures, internal controls, and documentation to keep the team compliant and audit-ready

What you bring to the role

  • You've owned a Zuora Revenue (RevPro) close end-to-end — including the moments when the period didn't want to close — and can speak to how you worked through it

  • You can navigate complex ASC 606 scenarios and translate the technical accounting conclusion into something a non-accountant can actually understand

  • You've untangled a deferred revenue, contract asset, or unbilled AR reconciliation that didn't tie, and you have a clear point of view on what good looks like

  • You know what a close looks like when it's running well — and you've had to rebuild one that wasn't

  • You can point to someone on a previous team who is better at their job because of you

  • You're comfortable operating across finance, accounting, and operations without needing a defined lane

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in revenue recognition or technical accounting, with a mix of Big 4 audit and operational industry experience

  • CPA required

  • Hands-on experience managing period close in **Zuora Revenue (RevPro)**

  • Strong working knowledge of **ASC 606**

Preferred Qualifications

  • SaaS industry experience

  • Experience with **NetSuite** or a comparable ERP

  • Prior experience managing or mentoring accounting staff
