Senior Territory Sales Engineer

Location: Remote within Western Region US
Travel: Up to 60% in-territory. Must have a valid driver's license

About the Role

As a Territory Sales Engineer (TSE), you’ll be the technical champion for customers in your region. You’ll partner closely with Sales to design solutions that transform broadband service providers into market leaders. This role blends technical expertisecustomer engagement, and business impact—you’ll help customers modernize their networks, adopt cutting-edge technologies, and deliver exceptional subscriber experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead technical sales engagements: Understand customer needs, design solutions, and guide technical validation through labs and field trials.
  • Architect end-to-end solutions: Cover Access, Subscriber, and Cloud platforms to deliver integrated outcomes.
  • Present with confidence: Communicate complex technology in a way that resonates with executives and engineers alike.
  • Deliver technical sales-oriented presentations to customer's technical staff and senior management.
  • Deliver presentations at Industry Trade Shows within the assigned territory and Calix marketing events.
  • Collaborate across teams: Work with Sales, Services, and Specialists to accelerate deals and ensure successful deployments.
  • Respond to RFPs/RFIs: Deliver accurate, competitive proposals that showcase our platform advantages.
  • Stay ahead of the curve: Learn and apply emerging technologies like Agent AI to drive innovation and efficiency, Wi-Fi standards, cloud automation, and smart home solutions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong technical background in networking, broadband, or cloud solutions.
  • BS in Computer Science or Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to simplify complexity and build trust with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in pre-sales engineering, solution design, or technical consulting.

·     Mastery of Wi-Fi Standards and Managed Wi-Fi Solutions

·     Experience implementing Wi-Fi solutions and subscriber-facing user applications

·     Strong technical familiarity with Layer 2 and Layer 3 Access & Aggregation network architecture

·     Familiarity with fiber and copper-based Access systems

·     Experience with WAN services, PON and Ethernet based architectures

·     Understanding of SaaS and SDN based technologies

·     Knowledge with various routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS) and transport functions (L2/3 VPN)

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Additional Considerations:

·     Experience in the Service Provider industry OR similar

·     Strong knowledge of operational and support (BSS/OSS) systems and integration considerations

The on-target earnings for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
