JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for generating top-line revenue through strategic prospecting, account development, and group sales execution. This role focuses on building high-value corporate, association, SMERF, and lifestyle-driven group business that aligns with the property’s brand positioning and revenue strategy.

The ideal candidate is a proactive hunter, disciplined closer, and strategic thinker who understands displacement, group ceilings, and rate integrity — not just room night production.


Key Responsibilities

Revenue Generation & Sales Strategy

  • Proactively solicit new group and corporate business aligned with ADR targets
  • Maintain and grow a portfolio of high-value accounts
  • Develop and execute quarterly action plans tied to budgeted segmentation goals
  • Partner with Revenue Management to evaluate displacement and optimize mix
  • Support occupancy-first and rate-optimization strategies as directed

Account Management

  • Conduct site visits, client entertainment, and local market engagement
  • Maintain strong relationships with meeting planners, corporate travel managers, and third-party intermediaries
  • Ensure accurate and timely proposals, contracts, and follow-ups
  • Monitor account production vs. goals and adjust strategy as needed

Sales Systems & Reporting

  • Maintain CRM accuracy (Delphi/THYNK or equivalent)
  • Manage pace reporting and booking activity weekly
  • Forecast group production and pipeline integrity
  • Participate in weekly revenue strategy meetings

On-Property Engagement

  • Conduct property tours
  • Support key group arrivals and VIP experiences
  • Collaborate with Conference Services and Operations to ensure seamless execution
  • Represent Lone Star Court within The Domain and Austin business community

Performance Expectations

The Senior Sales Manager will be evaluated on:

  • Quarterly and annual group revenue production (actualized revenue)
  • ADR integrity on contracted business
  • Net new account acquisition
  • Pace performance vs. budget
  • Prospecting activity and pipeline health
  • Contribution to overall RevPAR index improvement

Compensation Structure

  • Base Salary (commensurate with experience)
  • Quarterly incentive tied to group revenue
  • Benefits package per Valencia Hotel Group standards

BASICS

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Display courteous behavior with guests and team members
  • Ensure hotel equipment is in proper working condition
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Safety & Compliance

    • Comply with Valencia Hotel Group (and its affiliates) standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
    • Report unsafe conditions
    • Ensure to complete all required certification, harassment, and safety and security training
    • Report any incidents and create an incident report on the same day

Physical Requirements

  • Sitting: Frequently
  • Standing/Walking: Frequently to include walking approximately one block to/from hotel location.
  • Lifting/Carrying: typically, less than 15lbs; occasionally lifting and carrying
  • Other Physical Requirements: handling/ grasping paperwork; phone and computer device usage frequently

Working Environment

  • Interior: Primarily indoor office setting; All guest and back of the house areas to include walking on carpet/ tile, hard wood flooring, concrete, stairs, elevator usage and back of house areas to include walking though the kitchen area on occasion.
  • Exterior: On occasion exposure to weather conditions and elements also to include walking on tile and concrete, stair usage, elevator usage.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

  • 3+ years hotel group sales experience (lifestyle or boutique preferred)
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Understanding of displacement analysis and group ceilings
  • Experience with CRM and revenue management collaboration
  • Established network within Austin corporate and association markets preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
