Job Summary:

Revance Aesthetics is looking for a Sr. Sales Operations Analyst to own our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM), validation, and administration of incentive compensation for our field sales organization. This role sits in Sales Operations and reports to the Sales Operations Manager.

Our incentive compensation function is growing and modernizing, and this role will play a central part in that. Near term, the work involves a mix of hands-on calculation in Excel and helping stand up more scalable tools and processes. Longer term, the role owns the systems, controls, and reporting that keep incentive pay accurate, timely, and defensible.

This is a senior individual contributor role. The right person brings five or more years of experience, has administered an ICM platform and supported an implementation, can show exactly how a number was produced, and is ready to take ownership of a process end-to-end.

Reporting to:
    Manager, Sales Operations
Location:             Remote

Responsibilities/Essential Duties:

  • Own and administer the recurring calculation of incentive payouts (commissions, bonuses, and SPIFs) for field sales roles, using Excel and incentive compensation management (ICM) tools as appropriate.
  • Help implement the ICM platform: document requirements, build test plan calculations, run parallel cycles against Excel results, and support go-live.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for field sales inquiries and disputes about pay, and resolve them with clear, accurate explanations.
  • Prepare, reconcile, and validate the inputs that feed each calculation cycle: sales results, quotas, territory assignments, and sales roster changes (new hires, terminations, leaves, transfers).
  • Reconcile calculated payouts against source data and prior periods, investigate variances, and maintain documented controls so every payout is defensible to Finance and supportable in audit.
  • Lead system testing, validation, and parallel runs as incentive compensation tools and processes are enhanced, and administer those tools on an ongoing basis, including plan configuration, rate tables, hierarchy and roster maintenance, data loads, and statement release.
  • Product recurring attainment, payout, and plan cost reporting for sales leadership, Finance, and HR, including support for accrual and forecasting.
  • Own documentation for plan mechanics, calculation procedures, and exception handling; keep plan documents and acknowledgements current.
  • Partner with the Manager, Incentive Compensation on plan design analysis, including cost modeling, payout curve and threshold analysis, and what-if scenarios for proposed changes.
  • Identify and drive process improvements that reduce manual effort, shorten cycle time, and strengthen controls.
  • Support territory and quota planning analytics as the Sales Operations Function grows.

 Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree & 5+ years’ directly related experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, mathematics, statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent relevant experience in compensation, finance, or sales operations.
  • 5+ years’ analytical experience, including at least 3 years in incentive compensation, sales compensation, or commissions (plan administration, payout calculation, or plan analysis).
  • 2+ years’ hands-on experience with an incentive compensation management platform such as CaptivateIQ, Xactly, Varicent, Everstage, Spiff, or SAP Commissions.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including lookups (XLOOKUP, INDEX, and MATCH), SUMIFS and related aggregation functions, pivot tables, structured tables, and the ability to build models that another person can audit and follow.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and comfort reconciling large datasets to a zero-variance standard.
  • Ability to explain calculations and plan mechanics clearly to non-technical audiences, in writing and in conversation, including senior sales leaders.
  • Sound judgement and discretion in handling confidential compensation data.
  • Ability to own a deadline-driven calculation cycle end-to-end, and prioritize across competing requests with limited supervision.
  • Experience leading or supporting an ICM implementation, migration, or major system enhancement.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and familiarity with data warehouse or BI environment.
  • Familiarity with CRM data (for example, Salesforce) as a source of sales and account information.
  • Experience in medical aesthetics, pharmaceutical, medical device, or another regulated field sales environment.
  • Experience at a publicly traded company, with exposure to audit and control requirements around compensation.
