About the Role

Join the Threat Detection and Response team at a leading global travel technology marketplace. This is the front-line team that detects, investigates, and responds to internal and external security threats and malicious activity across corporate and production environments. As a senior engineer, you will help define and execute the vision for threat detection and incident response capabilities while mentoring teammates. You will have direct impact building, optimizing, and scaling security capabilities that protect millions of users worldwide.

What You'll Do
  • Perform investigations of security incidents using digital forensics and data analytics
  • Use coding, data analytics, and investigation skills to hunt, detect, and respond to threats
  • Build automation and detection models to identify anomalous activity and mitigate threats at scale
  • Proactively hunt for threats in corporate and production environments
  • Partner with engineering teams to build advanced detection solutions and carry out complex investigations
  • Identify gaps in infrastructure and work with business partners to improve visibility through logging and detection
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Legal, Privacy, and Engineering for efficient, large-scale response
    Qualifications
    • 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in security operations, including investigations, incident response, incident management, digital forensics, threat intelligence, threat hunting, and/or detection engineering
    • Proficiency in Python or another scripting language; SQL and Pandas are used frequently
    • Experience automating security detection and response
    • Working knowledge of the Cyber Kill Chain and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks and how they apply to the threat landscape
    • Self-motivated problem solver able to work independently with minimal guidance
    • Ability to lead through influence in complex, ambiguous situations
    • Calm, collaborative, and expedient in critical high-stress situations
    • Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    Familiarity with Elasticsearch. Experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS)

    • Start Date: July 2026

    • Contract Duration: 12-month contract with possibility of extension

    • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

    • Location: Remote (US based), PST preferred

    • Compensation: $140 to $160 per hour (W2)
