Job Description:

As a Software Engineer - API & Partner Integration at Datasite, you lead projects, drive technical decisions, and build scalable platform systems with an AI-first mindset. You balance business context, customer impact, and long-term platform health while enabling intelligent, API-driven experiences and partner integrations (e.g., MCP, marketplace, and discovery services).

You bring hands-on experience or strong exposure to AI-assisted or AI-enabled development (LLM APIs, automation workflows, intelligent orchestration), paired with the ability to learn quickly, adapt in ambiguity, and move with urgency. You will help ensure new partnerships are delivered with both operational rigor and creative problem solving.

This is a US-remote opportunity. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time. If not located in MN, occasional travel will be required.

How We Work Together

Strategic Technical Leadership

  • Guide technical decisions that incorporate AI-enabled capabilities into core platform services and partner integrations.

  • Partner with Product and leadership to develop flexible roadmaps aligned to Datasite strategy while adapting to fast-evolving AI and partner opportunities.

  • Drive architectural improvements that scale AI workloads, reduce operational overhead, and improve reliability across APIs and platform services.

  • Maintain adaptable technical plans, enabling rapid iteration in uncertain, high-velocity environments.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Influence

  • Identify and drive cross-platform improvements (Dev Portal, Marketplace, MCP, API standards) that enhance developer and partner experiences.

  • Drive the evolution of Datasite's Marketplace ecosystem, including partner onboarding, discovery experiences, integration standards, and developer enablement.

  • Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and partner teams to deliver AI-first, integration-ready solutions.

  • Communicate complex concepts clearly, translating AI and platform design trade-offs for diverse stakeholders.

  • Provide technical guidance that ensures alignment, simplicity, and consistency across teams and integrations.

Problem Solving & Overcoming Obstacles

  • Evaluate trade-offs across speed, cost, accuracy, and scalability, especially in AI-enabled and partner-driven solutions.

  • Simplify systems and drive down technical debt while supporting rapid experimentation and delivery.

  • Own ambiguous challenges, particularly in new partnership integrations and emerging AI use cases, and drive them to resolution.

  • Apply strong diagnostics to identify root causes and deliver resilient, maintainable solutions.

Mentorship & Growth

  • Mentor engineers through coaching and feedback, including adoption of modern and AI-assisted development practices.

  • Support team growth by promoting continuous learning, experimentation, and adaptability.

  • Foster a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and shared ownership.

  • Help raise the bar in hiring, ensuring alignment with Datasite’s technical and cultural expectations.

Ownership & Accountability

  • Own end-to-end design and delivery of platform services, APIs, and AI-enabled capabilities, including partner integrations.

  • Build systems with strong observability, resilience, and performance characteristics, especially under variable AI workloads.

  • Track progress, manage risk, and adapt plans while maintaining a bias for action and high-quality execution.

  • Ensure new partnerships are delivered with care, reliability, and ingenuity, balancing speed with long-term sustainability.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong experience building and operating scalable distributed systems and APIs

  • Prior experience building, scaling, or supporting a marketplace platform (B2B SaaS, developer marketplace, app marketplace, integration marketplace, or partner ecosystem) with responsibility for partner onboarding, integration delivery, and ecosystem growth.

  • Experience or exposure to AI/ML technologies (LLMs, embeddings, automation workflows, etc.)

  • Ability to ramp quickly on new technologies and domains, especially in AI and partner ecosystems

  • Proven success leading work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments

  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and cross-team influence
