We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join  Procore’s Platform Services Division. Procore software solutions aim to improve the lives of everyone in construction and the people within Product & Technology are the driving force behind our innovative, top-rated global platform. We’re a customer-centric group that encompasses engineering, product, product design and data, security and business systems.

In this Senior Software Engineer role, you’ll build and maintain tools that support the operational excellence of services and the platform. As a member of the DevOps Tools Team you will design and build platform services that address secrets management, operational ingestion pipelines, asset inventory, and compliance needs. Use your technical skills, people skills, and good design principles to create platforms developers can easily integrate with.

This position reports into the Engineering Manager of the DevOps Tools team and is a hybrid role based in Austin. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately. Apply today to join our team!

What you’ll do:

  • Engineer the architectural lifecycle of our operational data pipelines, from high-throughput event ingestion to ensuring data reliability across critical analytical sinks like Databricks and Atlassian Compass.
  • Implement robust and scalable platform software components across the full lifecycle of development, actively anticipating and designing around non-functional requirements such as performance and reliability.
  • Rollout Procore’s Vault-backed Secrets Management Platform (SMP) by driving the strategic transition from legacy static credentials to a Zero Trust, identity-based model via OIDC and automated dynamic credential frameworks.
  • Drive AISDLC innovation by implementing AI-powered guardrails in our ingestion pipelines to proactively identify and remediate secret sprawl or compliance drift before it reaches production.
  • Provide active mentorship and direction to other engineers on and outside of your team, particularly in onboarding and growing junior engineers, while creating and sharing best practices for the devops tools space.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support the team’s production tools, handling operational support and incident resolution.
  • Self-direct your work and task selection effectively, calling upon a wide range of past work to tackle essentially any work within the scope of your team without requiring additional support.

What we’re looking for:

  • 5+ years of typical experience in software engineering.
  • Deep technical mastery of the Kubernetes ecosystem.
  • Demonstrated mastery and high proficiency as a direct contributor in at least one of the following: Golang, TypeScript, or HCL.
  • Expertise in Data Engineering and Ingestion, including the ability to build robust operational pipelines for asset inventory or compliance auditing.
  • Experience across multiple development paradigms or languages, utilizing tools like AWS, Vault, Databricks, streaming tools (Kafka), and data pipeline frameworks.
  • Proficiency in software security engineering best practices, specifically OIDC, PKI, principles of minimum privilege, and certificate rotation.
  • Proficiency in leveraging AI tools (Copilot, LLM APIs, and autonomous agents) to accelerate the software lifecycle.
  • A strong understanding of the actual cost to the business of implementing and running services, paired with an ability to consistently apply Computer Science fundamentals directly to day-to-day work.
