We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Solution Architect to lead the design and evolution of FleetPride's cloud, infrastructure, and platform engineering architecture. This role will define the technical strategy and reference architectures spanning AWS and Azure, DevSecOps tooling and pipelines, infrastructure, and platform engineering, while also building and leading a team of engineers and architects.

The ideal candidate combines deep, hands-on architecture expertise with proven leadership and people management skills. This is a role for someone who can set technical direction, mentor and grow a team, influence stakeholders across the business, and deliver secure, scalable, and resilient platforms in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Strategy

  • Define and own the target-state architecture for FleetPride's cloud, infrastructure, and platform engineering environments across AWS and Azure.
  • Design scalable, resilient, and secure reference architectures for compute, networking, storage, identity, and container/orchestration platforms.
  • Establish architecture standards, patterns, and guardrails for infrastructure-as-code, cloud landing zones, and platform services.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud, infrastructure, and platform technologies and provide recommendations to modernize the technology stack.
  • Lead architecture reviews and governance forums to ensure solutions align with enterprise standards and long-term strategy.

DevSecOps & Platform Engineering

  • Architect and guide the evolution of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices across the organization, leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps, Harness, and GitLab.
  • Define the architecture for embedding security into the software development lifecycle, including SAST, DAST, and vulnerability management tooling.
  • Partner with platform engineering teams to design self-service infrastructure, automation, and developer enablement capabilities.
  • Champion policy-as-code, secure configuration management, and compliance automation across cloud and platform environments.

Observability & Reliability

  • Define architecture and standards for observability and monitoring using tools such as New Relic, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
  • Guide the design of monitoring, alerting, and incident response frameworks to improve reliability and reduce time to detect and resolve issues.
  • Champion site reliability engineering (SRE) principles, including SLIs/SLOs and proactive capacity and performance planning, across architecture decisions.

Leadership & People Management

  • Build, lead, mentor, and develop a team of architects and engineers, fostering technical growth and career development.
  • Set team goals, manage performance, and create a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with infrastructure, security, application development, and business stakeholders to align architecture decisions with business priorities.
  • Communicate architecture strategy, trade-offs, and risk clearly to both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate third-party tools and platforms that support the architecture roadmap.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required.

AWS and/or Azure architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) strongly preferred.

Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, Security+) and/or Kubernetes certifications a plus.

Experience

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure, or platform engineering, including 3+ years in a people leadership or management role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise designing and implementing solutions on AWS and Azure, including compute, networking, storage, and identity services.
  • Proven experience architecting DevSecOps pipelines using Azure DevOps, Harness, and/or GitLab, including embedded SAST and DAST security scanning.
  • Strong experience with observability platforms such as New Relic, Dynatrace, and/or Datadog.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) and container/orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams, including hiring, performance management, and career development.
  • Proven track record influencing enterprise architecture decisions and driving alignment across cross-functional and executive stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, secure SDLC, and cloud security best practices.
  • Ability to balance strategic architecture vision with hands-on technical depth.
  • Ability to influence and drive alignment across engineering, security, and business stakeholders.
  • Business acumen in technology transformation and cloud cost management.

Work Environment

  • The primary environment is characterized by ambient room temperatures, lighting, and traditional office equipment found in a typical office environment.
