Red Canyon Software is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer IV to join the Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) Ground Sustainment Services (LGSS) program to add to our distinguished team to sustain and enhance the Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Common Ground System (CGS). The JPSS CGS is responsible for implementing JPSS Program command, control, and communications and data processing requirements for JPSS CGS-serviced missions. The JPSS is the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) next-generation operational Earth observation Program that acquires and distributes global environmental data from multiple polar-orbiting satellites, playing a critical role to NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in weather, climate, oceans, coasts, and space environments, which supports the Nation’s economy and protects life and property.
- Engineering experience with large complex systems (i.e. redundancy, scalable, portable, Agile)
- Either hands on experience or direct team leadership of Software teams that develop in Java, JavaScript, SQL Server, and No SQL
- Built innovative microservices and Web Services (incl. SOA/SOAP/REST/XML) or supported testing of such systems
- Utilized Cloud Foundry for efficient building on top of Kubernetes
- Efficiently conducted/lead verification testing of a deployed/integrated software/hardware based system with a team or lead a team conducting such testing
- In direct coordination with Stakeholders/Product Managers to identify minimum viable product requirements and clearly defined feature sets into well-scoped user stories for individual team members
- Experience Implementing large scale test execution events while employing traditional I&T test approaches (i.e. RVTM, Meaningful Test Metrics, Test Reporting)
- Familiarity (ideal but not required) with the NASA/NOAA SE processes
- Experience in cross functional disciplines to include (RMA, SMA, Systems Security, Metrics, Trade Analysis, Mission Systems, Integrated Logistics)
- Experience with developing NOAA/NASA SE documentation (i.e. SEMP, Test plans, Test Procedures, SSPs, milestone event planning)
Additionally, Test Engineers with Cloud SME background and the following areas of experience are beneficial for this role (Recommended for the role but not a requirement):
- Providing a high-level road map and best practice recommendations, to clients with a Business Productivity Infrastructure Optimization (BPIO) maturity model roadmap to deploy cloud base solutions. Working with clients to create portal governances based on real world experience, to comply with organizational objectives.
- Ability to customize Algorithm-driven solutions that creates process automation either in up-front testing or in day to day completion of work
- Custom designed solutions to deploy cloud base infrastructures solutions to meet client's compliancy and high availability requirements.
- Providing customized training to stand users and super users on Cloud base solutions.
- Performed high level requirements gathering and solution design cloud base solutions
Experience: 8-15+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-information systems and completing test verification and validation on those delivered systems.
This position is remote work designated by contract and does not require the candidate to be in the D.C. area.
