Vantor is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Falcon team. This role can be performed remotely within the continental United States.
As a Vantor team member, you will have the opportunity to closely support our mission partners, and your work will have a direct impact on delivering reliable, mission-focused systems that enable timely operational awareness and data-driven decision-making. In this role, you'll work closely with software engineers, data scientists, end-users, and customer stakeholders to design, integrate, and sustain scalable systems that support complex mission workflows.

What You’ll Be Doing:
Leading and contributing to the design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of mission-focused systems that support analytical workflows, operational users, and data-intensive applications. You will help translate mission and user needs into technical requirements, system designs, interface definitions, deployment patterns, and operational processes. You will partner with software engineers and data scientists to ensure applications, data pipelines, infrastructure components, and external integrations operate together reliably, securely, and at mission speed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US citizen.
- Current Top Secret security clearance or DHS/CBP suitability.
- Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, computer science, information systems, software engineering, or a related technical field (4 additional years of experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree. A master's degree may count as an additional 2 years of experience.).
- 8+ years demonstrated professional experience in systems engineering, software systems integration, technical architecture, requirements development, or mission system sustainment.
- Experience translating mission, operational, and stakeholder needs into technical requirements, system designs, acceptance criteria, and implementation plans.
- Working knowledge of modern software, data, and infrastructure concepts, including APIs, databases, cloud or cloud-like environments, containerization, and CI/CD workflows.
- Experience supporting system integration, test planning, verification and validation, troubleshooting, and operational readiness activities.
- Working knowledge of agile delivery practices and tools, such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab.
- Strong verbal, written, documentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must be willing to work in a remote setting or nearby Vantor facility and comfortable communicating via video calls.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of systems engineering experience supporting mission, defense, homeland security, intelligence, or operational technology programs.
- Experience developing system architectures, interface control documents, CONOPS, requirements traceability matrices, test plans, deployment plans, and operational support documentation.
- Experience with cloud or cloud-like environments such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack, or similar platforms.
- Experience with containerized deployments and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience supporting CI/CD tools and workflows such as Jenkins, ArgoCD, Harness, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, performance analysis, and reliability improvement for production systems.
- Familiarity with low-latency, streaming, or event-driven data processing technologies and paradigms, such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with SQL databases, data stores, and data lake/table formats, such as PostgreSQL, Apache Iceberg, or similar technologies.
- Experience coordinating across software engineering, data science, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, customer, and mission user communities.
- Understanding of security, compliance, authorization, and change-management practices for systems operating in controlled or mission-sensitive environments.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range.
The base pay for this position within California, Colorado, Hawaii, New Jersey, the Washington, DC metropolitan area, and for all other states is:
