We are looking for a talented TBM Analyst to join our team specializing in Technology Business Management (TBM) and IT Cost Transparency, preferably located in Columbus, IN, Indianapolis, IN, or a location within proximity of other Cummins sites could be considered.

The TBM Analyst role will be responsible for managing and enhancing our TBM platform to support strategic decision-making and financial transparency across Technology Operations. This role requires collaboration with IT, Finance, and Business stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely, and insightful reporting.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Configure, maintain, and enhance the Apptio TBM model, structure, and dashboards.
  • Maintains system configuration for the Finance team with annual budget planning, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis
  • Works with business and technical teams to identify integration and data requirements, ensuring successful implementation and performance according to specifications
  • Maintain TBM process documentation and ensure alignment with roadmap priorities.
  • Partner with IT product managers, Finance and the Business to ensure data accuracy and actionable insights.
  • Support automation, performance tuning, and optimization of TBM processes.
  • Serves as subject matter expert and point of contact on processes, procedures, functionality and application support.
Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you will need the following: 

  • Apply strong business insight to link solutions and configurations directly to revenue, cost, risk, and customer outcomes.
  • Build trusted customer relationships and design customer‑centric solutions that solve real pains and improve adoption.
  • Use a global perspective—consider regional regulations, data residency, localization, and time zones in solution choices.
  • Tame complexity by structuring ambiguous requirements, synthesizing conflicting inputs, and making clear, data‑driven trade‑offs.
  • Manage conflict constructively—surface issues early, align on facts and goals, and negotiate win‑win paths with minimal disruption.
  • Standardize and continuously improve processes; document playbooks, automate repeatable steps, and remove waste.
  • Stay tech‑savvy—track emerging platforms and tools; pilot innovations that measurably improve speed, quality, or cost.
  • Execute solution configuration for COTS apps using version control, CI/CD, and security/compliance guardrails.
  • Create robust solution designs with clear instrumentation, measurement plans, and compliance with enterprise standards.
  • Perform solution functional fit analysis to ensure components integrate holistically across business, technical, security, and governance needs.
  • Build accurate solution models (diagrams, data flows, state models) that enable shared understanding and faster delivery.
  • Validate through structured testing aligned to SDLC—define test cases, automate where feasible, and confirm requirements are met before release.

Education, Licenses, Certifications: 

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related subject, or relevant equivalent experience required. 
  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 
     

Experience: 

  • Intermediate level of relevant work experience required. 
  • 3-5 years of experience.
Qualifications

Additional Information: 

  • 3-5 years of experience in TBM, Apptio administration.
  • Strong skills in data validation, financial modeling and business intelligence/reporting tools.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex data and system issues.
  • Process improvement mindset with focus on automation and efficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Finance, or related field.
  • Apptio U certification(s) preferred.

Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
