About Tessera Labs

Tessera Labs is redefining how enterprises modernize their most complex systems. Backed by Foundation Capital and built by leaders in AI (Artificial Intelligence) and enterprise transformation, Tessera delivers governed, multi-agent AI built specifically for ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) modernization.

Tessera compresses ERP modernization from years to weeks.

About the Role

The Senior Technical Project Manager is the customer-facing voice of Tessera's infrastructure, security, and compliance organization. You help customers understand how Tessera is built, secured, and governed, and you make sure our internal teams deliver what customers need.

The role has two halves. Internally, you run projects across IT (Information Technology), Security, Compliance, Automation, and Infrastructure. Externally, you join business-side project managers on customer calls, explain our platform in plain language, and turn customer requests into clear, resourced work.

You don't need to be an engineer. You do need enough technical understanding to speak credibly with customer architects and security teams, the curiosity to learn fast, and the judgment to know when to bring in an engineer.

What You'll Do

Customer Engagement

  • Join customer calls with business-side project managers to explain Tessera's infrastructure, deployment models, security controls, and compliance posture.

  • Translate technical topics into clear language for customer executives, IT leaders, security reviewers, and procurement teams.

  • Guide customers through security reviews, due diligence questionnaires, and compliance evidence requests, from commercial enterprises to government and other regulated customers.

  • Identify when a customer needs deeper detail or engineering work, then secure the right internal experts and resources.

  • Build trust as a dependable point of contact who follows up and closes loops.

Internal Cross-Team Project Management

  • Plan and run projects across IT, Security, Compliance, Automation, and Infrastructure teams.

  • Turn customer requirements into scoped work with owners, timelines, and dependencies.

  • Track risks, blockers, and decisions, and escalate early when timelines or scope are at risk.

  • Keep reusable customer-facing materials current, such as architecture overviews, security summaries, and standard questionnaire answers.

Pipeline and Status Management

  • Own the pipeline of customer infrastructure, security, and compliance requests from intake to close.

  • Provide regular status updates to customers, business-side project managers, and Tessera leadership.

  • Report on volume, turnaround time, and recurring customer asks to improve how the team works.

  • Use AI tools to speed up planning, documentation, and reporting.

What We're Looking For
  • 5–8 years of experience in technical project management, technical account management, or customer-facing delivery roles.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the confidence to lead customer conversations and present to technical and executive audiences.

  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform), security concepts, and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 (System and Organization Controls 2) or ISO/IEC 27001 (International Organization for Standardization / International Electrotechnical Commission 27001). Fluency is required; hands-on engineering is not.

  • A proven record of managing cross-functional projects with many stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Strong curiosity and the ability to learn new technical topics quickly and explain them clearly.

  • Highly organized, with a habit of written status updates, clear follow-ups, and ownership through completion.

Nice to Have
  • Experience supporting customer security reviews, vendor due diligence, or audits at an enterprise SaaS (Software as a Service) or AI company.

  • Exposure to government or regulated-industry customers, including frameworks such as FedRAMP (Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program).

  • Familiarity with deployment models such as multi-tenant SaaS, single-tenant, customer cloud, and on-premises.

  • A certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CompTIA Security+ (Computing Technology Industry Association Security+).

  • Background at a system integrator, enterprise SaaS company, or high-growth startup.
